If he signs I think Idah is gonna get his shot as no9. Maeda back out left.

Would be disappointed tbh if this is what in theory would be the Kyogo replacement. Although admittedly he does seem to have attributes that would suit here.

Just that he's way way out of form.

I would much prefer Strelec to Yamada, I think he has a far better pedigree. I don’t think Yamada looks terrible but his form is a major worry. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Maeda is used across the two positions.

Idah who knows hopefully he puts in a solid preseason and gets his head screwed on as there is something there to work with but consistency is a major issue.

He's played wide right before as well, wouldn't mind him as a Yang replacement, as long as we still get a big money striker in as well.

If our front three are Yamada , idah and maeda then I’d go as far too say that it’s probably one of the poorest front three in the years I’ve supported Celtic from which I can remember from as far back as about 96/97 is when I can remember. I don’t think in that time I could name a worst front three at the club at the same time.

maeda is brilliant from the left and a good back up as a striker but that’s as far as it goes with him ,

Idah if we bought for 2/3 million I would say it’s a decent back up at that price but for 9million Norwich pulled our pants down and he’s nowhere near a Celtic starting number 9

yamada too me seems like a buy that from the board rather than the manager and I think he comes here for 6-12 month then goes back home , doesn’t look that great , when I watched videos of Kyogo and seen iniesta raving about him then it got me excited and on board with the move but don’t see it with this guy.

calvert-lewin keeps being mentioned and if fit would be decent but again it’s a big risk with injuries

the guys we where linked with in January seemed like we where actually going to spend a bit of money on a number 9 but so far it’s been a pretty depressing start to the transfer window except kt and nygren

He may turn out to be great but it appears we are very much trying to add to the squad on a budget.

I dont know why we do this but * it, I'm sick of getting worked up over it. I would be amazed if this is a BR signing.

As would I but there's about a £7m price difference between the two.

I'd like him or Matheus Saldanha from Ferencvaros

The reason why is as I have bored every * in all the threads

There is no guarantee of UCL football this season
Manager is away in 10 months time
His record of signings could be deemed poor by our board
Board want to hoard cash for the coming years where you will have the league winner with 3 qualifiers and league runners up in the UECL

Until the moment the window slams shut and we have concrete evidence of how much we have spent, we have no idea of the intentions for this window.

I am not convinced Strelec would still be quoted as expensive as he was in January, they seem to be actively touting him about.

The two I would really like are Rafiu Durosimni at Viktoria Plzen or Romulo Cardoso at Goztepe I think both would be available for under €10m (£8.6m) especially Durosimni as he only has a year on his deal. Edit - I just saw Cardoso is being quoted at €20m they signed him in January for about £2.5m.

Both are big units mobile, can link play and know where the net is. Very Rodgers-esc strikers. A wildcard would be David Defoe Fofana on a loan to buy from Chelsea who I think has the potential to be like that too at the right club.

I think the real question is, has he been properly linked again since the initial story?

With Inamura, it was obvious he was coming in early on, constant updates on what was happening with him, with this guy there doesn't seem to be that.

I'd be fine with him signing, but I'm not sure how likely that is.
