As long as the one we bring in is of a good level and experienced. CB that is. I still think we could easily upgrade on Scales but rodgers obviously doesn't agree.

Relying on Frame would be risky but may pay off. I dunno.

"I think we’ll definitely look to bring in another one."

So he's going to sign one, and then replace the others with young players in the squad.

That's exactly what we're after, only one of the CBs who's left was actually at the club last year.

Thought frames overlapping and timing of them runs were excellent last night.. regards Murray, when was the last time a 5th choice Celtic CB got any sort of decent game time? COVID aside

id be delighted if the academy boys were getting a chance this season, its either that, or get in some good quality faces. I think everyones issue is when the squad gets bloated with players that arent contributing and blocking the pathway for the younger lads.

If lager/rocki are on their way out I don't see any issue with someone like Murray stepping up to fill one of those slots, if we actually think they're up to it, we need to start showing younger players they do have a pathway to the first team. Still like to sign another proven CB to immediately challenge for a starting spot ahead of Scales.

Murray and Frame could have been given a chance last season. Better now than never, I guess.

Aye hopefully we'd see something like a pecking order of CCV > New Guy > Trusty and Scales > Dane Murray. I'd be fine with those 5 for the 2 CB positions as long as the new guy is quality and 1st team ready.

Murray was set to be called up last season before his injury

He was due to be on the bench for the huns game

Don't worry, think about all the money the club will be making and the big bonuses for our hard working board.

    Sun transfer bulletin

CELTIC have already completed five transfers in this summer window.

But there are plenty more expected to arrive at Parkhead - with a few others set to join Nicolas Kuhn out the exit door.

The German winger is closing in on a £17million move to Como after reportedly turning down a deal at his former club RB Leipzig.

And with Jota ruled out of action until 2026, Brendan Rodgers will need a couple of new wingers to step up to the plate.

Benjamin Nygren will provide an option for the Celtic gaffer but we understand the manager is looking at bringing in at least two more to fill the void.

SunSport's David Friel takes a look at all the latest transfer news coming in and going out of Parkhead.

    NICOLAS KUHN
It's a huge transfer so early in the window. A €20million euro deal, equates to about £17million for Nicolas Kuhn. I don't know what the German word is for gazumped, but it feels as if Leipzig have been gazumped.

I believe that deal was pretty far down the line. Reports out of Germany suggest that he is getting offered twice the money to go to Como. I don't know the ins and outs in terms of the transfer. All I know is that Como haven't wasted any time.

I think it's a level of money that Celtic probably couldn't turn down. By the looks of it Nicolas Kuhn wants to leave.

Whether it's because it's a top five European league or he feels that the Como project is an exciting one. I think by the end of this transfer window, they'll probably have spent well in excess of €100m. For Celtic it's a huge profit on a £3m fee 18 months ago.

It looks like a four-year deal and he's going to get a big salary bump. Celtic will have to pay probably a little bit to Rapid Vienna in terms of the sell-on. It's normally a sell-on in terms of profit.

    BRENDAN RODGERS' TRANSFER KITTY
Celtic are a very wealthy club, they're a very well-run club, and they have a lot of money in the bank. There will be supporters moaning about the club not going out and spending 15 or 20million. They're not just going to throw money at it without having a rational business plan.

And I think if you look at Celtic over, certainly last summer, the Matt O'Riley money, which was the guts of £30m, was pretty much reinvested in the team.

In January there, Celtic got about £10m for Kyogo, it was instantly reinvested for Jota. This summer already, Celtic did get a little bit of money from Jeremie Frimpong to Liverpool deal. They're obviously going to get a decent profit from Nicolas Kuhn.

There will be other outgoings, and there's obviously cash in the bank there. So I think Celtic will reinvest what they bring in, and maybe a bit more so.

In terms of what kind of budget Rodgers gets, I don't think it necessarily works like that. I think Celtic look at everything deal by deal.

There's money there to spend and there'll be more money there to spend. However, they look at what deal they can get, and what's a good deal in the end.

MICHEL-ANGE BALIKWISHA, SONDRE ORJASAETER and OTHER TARGETS
There's so many wingers flying about, in terms of names and all that sort of stuff. We've spoken over the summer about Michel-Ange Balakwisha and about Sondre Orjasaeter. We have spoken about so many.

I'm sure there are a few others, I know there are a few others that Celtic will be looking at.

However, it all comes down to, what's the best deal, what's the value? Do Celtic go for an experienced one that they feel they can still get a few years out of? Do they just go for a project type? Do they go for somewhere in between?

I think that'll all be getting discussed just now, but I would guarantee that before the end of the window, I would imagine Celtic sign at least two new wingers.

CELTIC EXITS COULD REACH DOUBLE DIGITS
I think by the time the transfer window finishes, you could easily look at Celtic letting 12 or 13 players go. I mean, we've already spoken about Kuhn and there's Greg Taylor. Schlupp's gone. Scott Bain's gone to Falkirk.

That was a sensible one. Again, I think he wants to go and play football. He'd done his bit. Celtic bring Ross Doohan, perfect replacement for him.

Gustaf Lagerbielke. And then you look at others that there is interest in. You know, there's been talk of Yang. I'm not sure if I was Celtic I would let Yang go just yet.

Look, I think he is a player who has struggled for consistency. I think it can sometimes be hard for him when he's only coming on for maybe 20 minutes. But I think he's shown flashes last season that maybe there is a player in there, you know, and he's a South Korean international.

I know Legia Warsaw have been linked with him. Talking to a colleague in Poland, he would be very surprised if Legia had the money, say three, four million, to go and make that a permanent deal. So I'm not sure about that one.

And then there are others who have interest and younger players too.

    REO HATATE
We'll see what Brendan Rodgers gives in terms of an update in terms of his fitness over the weekend. He was the one that I felt at the end of the season had done his bit for Celtic.

I felt he was kind of primed for a move and that this would be the summer for him to go. I'm now thinking that it might still happen.

However, I just wonder whether, especially with Kuhn going, that Celtic would not sell Hatate before the Champions League play-off. I just think that if he can get himself back fit, he's going to be such a crucial player for Celtic over those two legs in a pretty defining game of the season.

I think Celtic would have to be very careful in the sense that if you are losing one of your starters, albeit Benjamin Nygren could be seen as the ideal replacement for Kuhn, I think you need to be very careful if you lose another one before that playoff. Celtic are under no pressure to sell.

    LENNON MILLER
I think Celtic like Lennon Miller, they have liked him for a long time. They looked at him in January, I think they spoke to Motherwell about him in January.

I also think with Lennon Miller, you need to take into consideration what the player wants. I think if Lennon Miller's agent picked up the phone to Celtic to say he wants to come to Celtic, they would do a deal

I don't think there's any question about that. However, I think the one person with the biggest insight into Lennon Miller is his dad, Lee, who made it clear that he fancies her crack football abroad.

I think he's looked at Aaron Hickey, Billy Gilmour, Scott McTominay, Lewis Ferguson and Greg Taylor. Now, look at James Penrice, signing for AEK Athens from Hearts. There has to be bids from abroad, there has to be acceptable bids and attractive bids from abroad.

So I would never, ever rule Celtic out of the race for Lennon Miller. However, my gut feeling is he'll probably end up abroad.

    SHIN YAMADA
Shin Yamada is a player of interest. He's still playing just now for Kawasaki Frontale, but has just been called up to the Japan.

It's almost like a Japan B squad for a mini tournament that starts next week against Hong Kong, South Korea and China. That's a fringe squad, it's a Japan squad made up of J1 League players, and Yamada has been called up to that.

Celtic could push a button on a deal but the tournament could delay things.

Two wingers minimum, positive to see that from Friel but also a lot of guesswork in there.

I've heard from a very close friend of the family that Miller is definitely off to Italy.

Torino interested in him, so wonder if there’s anything in that. Plenty Italian teams that will like him, especially off the back of the likes of Ferguson’s success.

Frame definitely should, he’s got everything needed to be playing first team football already.

The full article is just a summary piece that anyone on here could have written. It tells us absolutely nothing new.

The standard of so called journalism is terrible, no insight or research just regurgitating lines out an interview or what everyone else is saying on forums.

The club have known Kyogo is away, Jota is injured and Kuhn was likely away all for a while now so there must be targets in mind to bring in at least two attacking additions possibly three.

Centre back too Rodgers has said we will need to bring one in. what will be interesting is if that player is to partner CCV or is cover for him and Trusty and Scales fight it out for left sided centre back.

I would actually like to see two brought in and Trusty moved on but that may be a change that needs to wait until future windows as there will be a lot too do from here.

Right back will remain the same unless someone comes in for Johnston and he decides he wants to go or we want him too if the offer is substantial.

Left back I would like Frame to get a shot but I wouldn’t be surprised if we signed someone fairly cheap as cover.

I think midfield will largely depend on what happens with Reo from here, although we really could do with some athleticism in there.

No, he's a diehard Celtic man and he has a friend who has some sort of role at Motherwell
