You’re doing a fine job of embarrassing yourself with the plethora of * you talk. Your qualifier that Miller might be a dud was because he also came from Motherwell, like Turnbull (who wasn’t a dud).

Accused me of making things up then I prove you wrong and you try to double down. You are so * dumb. :56:

I won't answer you ducky, because I know you are one of those brain dead people that like to have the final word. :giggle2:

It is the transfer thread after all, and you are taking it off topic.

But do keep on reading my posts.
I am flattered wth your attention. :BR1:

Nah you essentially said don't sign Miller because he's at Motherwell and Turnbull came from Motherwell. A ridiculously simplistic and bizarre way of evaluating a player.

The bolded part is genuinely some of the stupidest logic going. We shouldn't sign anyone from Liverpool either after Nat Phillips I take it ?

Really intrigued by these two signings from Japan. Both seem imminent.

If Osmand is indeed signing then we have 4 strikers. Unless Maeda goes back out left and Idah is getting a shot as outright no1 with Yamada and Osmand. Those options would on paper seem quite weak considering the money we have available. I stress, on paper.

Broken record here but both just seem like another couple of punts when we should really be adding more ready made quality.

I know nothing about these Japanese guys we are linked with. Im bit sketchy about the centre back signing purely because I think its a difficult position to transition to coming from the J league which is much less physical than over here. He could be great, but it feels like another gamble in a position we have had a series of fails in. Id rather we went out and just spent to get a guy whos got more of a proven track record or if we want a cheap option to go for an experienced guy that might be out of contract that can hold the position for a season or two til we find a replacement.

I'm a bit 'meh' with these signings - they don't really move the needle much but do I suppose improve depth and are low risk with fee. I guess it means the club are happy with their options in those positions and will consider someone if Trusty or Scales move on.

I hope it means we'll spend big on a winger and midfielder. That would really be the ideal situation.

Could well be 6 new players but only two of them ready for a starting spot straight off the bat.

Doohan will never get a game. Inamura and Osmand are two cheap punts who should probably be loaned out immediately. And Yamada (if he signs) looks like a back up for Maeda.

Unless we sell Maeda. Which at this point I think is more than likely.

Long way to go in the window, but the kind of player we are targeting isnt particularly exciting so far. More cheapish punts to replace the previous batch of cheap punts we brought it that didnt work out.

Especially in that tricky 2nd centre half position I was really hoping we would just go out and spend the cash on some real quality. Instead we are hoping that this new japanese guy will be any better than the list of defenders we already spent similar on (or more) and havent worked out. We arent moving the dial at all so far anyway

Nygren and obviously Tierney look good at will strengthen the first team hopefully. They rest look project / back up territory.

It feels like we are unlikely to see a big spend signing until / unless we make a large sell. If that happens its probbly weeks down the line.

At least I get the feeling of a more organised approach to the transfers so far. Getting the business they can get done early out of the way and then will just have to see if that big sale materialises.

Hopefully the start of the window is trimming the * out and then adding some replacements to the squad.

I'd hope after the two Japanese lads and Osmand that we add more akin to Nygren.

Yep. That has to be the last of the squad fillers. We don't need anymore..

    We need starters now
    Wingers
    Centre half
    Centre mid..

We lost Kyogo who for years was our main striker and it appears we are very much shopping in the bargain bin for his replacement. Not saying this can't work but its doesn't fill you with confidence thats what we are doing.

We only really replaced KT when KT come back ffs. Would have liked to seen a statement signing in at CF but not looking likely now.

I think (hope!) the most recent signings / links are more squad / project players and won't dent the first XI - at least next season.
Only KT and maybe Nygren are first teamers so far.

We still need at least 2 x automatic first teamers.
A top drawer defensive midfielder and high quality striker.
Budget should be up to £15M each.
We don't need to send that much but we shouldn't be limited by it.

Anyone else from first XI sold must be also be replaced with equal or better quality (ie Maeda, Kuhn)

As Brendan says, we must continuously improve the first XI / squad and we have the resources to do so.
We also need a window that persuades the manager to sign an extension.
So let's get it done Celtic - or risk major regret later.

An interesting start to the window so far.

We got the Frimpong sell on of about £5.5m.

Have picked up a good deal on Nygren at about £1.3m.

Strong rumours of a few leaving including

    - Kuhn
    - Lagerbielke
    - Kenny
    - Welsh
    - Nawrocki
    - Kwon

Have seen Taylor leave for free but got Tierney back on similar terms, Schlupps loans done and sold Andersson for a small fee.

Lost Cummings but replaced with Osmand in terms of young prospect strikers.

Lost Bain but signed Doohan so like for like.

I suspect with the Japanese centre back being signed most likely Lagerbielke sale will go through soon. Or he is Taylor’s replacement for left back, time will tell if we sign another one.

Not sure where a new striker fits in? Yamada when he had his good season last year did seem to play that Kyogo in the box, sharp movement type centre forward so could be viewed as a replacement there?

If Kuhn is sold do we get a new winger after that?

For me we need a right winger whether Kuhn goes or stays.

2 wingers minimum of a good quality.need added. I suspect though things will quieten for a couple weeks until 5 or 6 players are out the door.
