Bcoz despite having a reputation for developing young players, Rodgers has absolutely * all interest in youth academy prospects and is only interested in spunking millions on bench warmers

 

* me of this. Where has he ever managed to get this reputation for developing young players??? Only guys he’s done it with is Sterling at Liverpool and Dewsbury-hall at Leicester. And not being funny but you couldn’t not play them with their qualities at the time!!

 

MOR, Moussa Dembele, Edouard, KT, Ajer all done pretty good as young players under BR, folk just pick and choose what particular criteria they need to bash BR.. we get it guys, you don't like our manager. Just stick it in your signature and it will save ye having to shoehorn yer BR opinion into every post ye make.

 

All this is about club youths not players they signed for £9 mil like edouard.

KT was already a first team player when Rodgers arrived.

For me it's nothing to do with not liking him.
Of the players you mention as far as I remember only Moussa started under BR, all the others came through under other managers, or made further progress under other managers.

But there might be more I've missed so post a list of all the young players that got their break under BR and developed into good players.

 

Ajer was Delia same for KT. MOR was well established under Ange and the other 2 developed at other clubs prior to Rodgers being involved.

Other than KT not sure any of them even qualify to be in the discussion regardless.

 

Go on then. He's been here 5 years over 2 spells. Lets here all the quality young players hes developed

 

Ajer was signed by Delia but never played under him. He had played top tier football prior to joining though.

Rodgers tried to bring Johnston through but no record of bringing players from the academy.

 

Mitchel Frame was good enough to come on against Feyenoord, did ok then disapeared.
Lagerbielke got the winner in that game but still got dumped again.

Rocky has always looked decent but we had to bring Scales back because Trusty couldn't be trusted.

Then there's been other youth players who get a few minutes look decent but disapear.

Why not just pick one or two and give them regular minutes off the bench. Not this 15 min cameo and then dumped again.

 

Because it's Celtic and the academy is there for show rather than to produce players.

 

If Anderson is away, it's a bit of a shame, but it's also understandable, as he is of an age where he wants to be playing first team football on a pretty regular basis and has probably been informed by the Club that he isn't in those plans.

That feels like a missed opportunity to be able to be part of the cover for KT, between Anderson & Frame... Does this now mean that it'll be Frame & Montgomery or even Scales to be the cover at LB, or is the club about to * more cash needlessly elsewhere on what will essentially be another backup?

 

Had played 1st team football and was incredibly highly rated and for 6 months he didn't even make the bench. He went on loan to Kilmarnock and his performance there then made it impossible to continue to ignore him.

Bare in mind when he was sitting in the stands for 6 months we had Kolo Toure towing a caravan and Sviatchenko towing his fat * at centre back so hardly the highest quality competition either

 

Don't be surprised if we end up with Scales playing there in CL qualifier. Rodgers has a * stauner for him and will shoehorn him in wherever he can.

Id be surprised if Rodgers knows who Frame is

 

It's a hard one to judge at LB. I don't fancy Montgomery, and Frame looked good against Feyenoord, then vanished, that does not say much for his prospects. Scales at LB would work, he did fine there with Aberdeen, but I would want another rated CB in then. Failing that, we sign another promising left back to compete/cover. with Tierney.

 

Not helped by being sent to 2nd division of Austrian football repeatedly bcoz no * at the club can be arsed sorting suitable loan deals.

Struggle to see the benefit of a partnership with a 2nd tier Austrian team in general.

 

Ajer was definitely a Ronnie signing and was even talked about as his mentor.

Delia and particularly Collins got involved with the development of younger players. Collins in particular seemed to take time to coach and help them. Did loads of one to one coaching apparently.

Would love to see him back at the club in some capacity.
