  1. Would love it but I just don't think BRs style suits him.

  2. Think Jota is great for Kyogo

Liam Scales and constant like this.

Don't understand the clammer for Kyogo to come back, he never suited playing under Brendan and with the money we have we should be bringing in a number 9 much better than that anyway.

  4. Do people not read before they start barking their dissent and whacking out the insults?

In the post i said a "glass half full situation" and hope there for alot of them. Particularly the likes of Engels. I also said ON THE FACE OF IT.

The pass/ fail evaluation is clearly based on LAST SEASON'S performances, value for money, and fan perspective. Many people want Trusty, Bernardo out. Kasper is persona non grata, and Idah is seen as a 9m pound boongoggle.

I truly believe Engels will come good, and as i said, i think Trusty showed early signs of being a player.

I ended the post saying that we cannot have a situation where we fork out major fees and have to wait seasons for them to get going. * READ a post.

But aye, Lecters goin mental again because hes worried about the summer.

I seriously despair at the level of * literacy on here at times.

we need to replace kyogo so we have options aside from that a back up left back which will probably be Schlupp(based on his age no one wants to join celtic at LB after us signing Tierney) any other signings I think will be based on a player leaving (hatate for example)

If all we did was replace Kyogo and not sign anyone else that'd be an absolute farce.

we spent nearly 40million least season we have signed Tierney so an improvement at LB we resigned jota(in jan) so an improvement / option on the left wing i dont see where we would could improve

We need a top class striker #1
A proper physical CM upgrade #2
A commanding CB to partner CCV, ( who can ideally head in a corner)#3
A direct pacey winger who can play either side #4
    LB cover #5

If we successfully signed those players we would be laughing. 5 players. On top of that replace anyone of importance that leaves (like for like ). That's probably 2 more, best case scenario hopefully not more.

    £5.5m I think.

  12. I just don't see how Arne Engels can be a fail already..

23 goal involvements in 54 games I think i just read. Come on. I don't care how many were penalties or set pieces..

He has a wand of a right peg at times. Has put it on the money so many times from dead balls or open play..

Has had some standout games. Bayern away he was immense and that isn't his only time. Clearly shows for a young guy learning on the job, he can do it on the biggest of stages..

Getting used to his role. Our style of play. The frenetic pace and aggression domestically..

I can understand the fee and being underwhelmed in certain games or wee runs but he isn't close to a fail in my book..

Just because we spent money last season doesn't mean we stop going into next.

Jota for starters is out till winter earliest. So we need cover there.

Are you content with Scales at CB? Are you content with only having one proper striker? Maeda having to fill two roles.

We could abd should be looking to improve on pretty much every position, every single year. I could agree with you if we had the squad of PSG...but nah.

Engels is nowhere close to being a failure. It’s all based on how much he cost. If we signed him for £3/5m people would be raving about him, in my opinion.

I reckon next season, if Atalanta don’t steal him, he’ll be even more influential.

  16. Definitely to do with his price tag.

Engles has been somewhat underwhelming, but there's a reason Atalanta are looking at him, POTENTIAL.

Also its as much to do with the dynamic of our midfield more than anything. We need a real CM in there to allow the likes of Engles to shine.

Kyogo I understand the clamour. But its a ni from me.
If Ange was in charge Id be screaming to bring him home. But not with the current manager. He was clearly unhappy, and we dont need that around the squad. Hatates mood swings are enough.

Even if you are basing it on last season as you say, would still disagree with your assessment. I don't believe a player who scores 20 goals or one who creates/scores 23 from midfield can be deemed a failure.

Unless we are just continually clinging on to the price tag argument.

Engels, Idah and Trusty all contributed to a double, baw hair from a treble and improved showing in Europe. There's very little outright failure there.

Have they been underwhelming at times? Aye. Absolutely. But failure would suggest they've came in, did nothing AKA Bangura, Shved etc and we've won nothing off the back of it. That wasn't the case.

I think you have to factor in the price tag on judging the success of a signing. Especially at a club like ours where value for money and sell on potential is crucial to how we operate.

Too early I think judge a signing after 1 season but as things stand now Id say Trusty and Idah look like we overpaid on what we ended up with. If we were to move either player on we would be unlikely to recoup our money Id say. Idah felt like a something of a panic buy rather than a measured signing as we left it too late in the window.

Engles I dont think was consistent enough over the course of the season relative to his fee, but given his age and potential Id still have high hopes for him. And if we were to sell him I think we would make a profit.

The consistency of the team in general really suffered over the latter part of the season though.

Absolutely agree, no one in the team should be above being replaced.
Scales at one end is a no brainer but even the likes of Maeda - we can and should do better.

The manager talks about the need for continuous improvement all the time, especially when on top.
Opposition will be better at home too.

Biggest summer for years upcoming. Geez it Peter.

We could improve all over the pitch.

Wouldn’t take much to improve at the centre of defence. Desperately need one, probably two first team ready midfielders. Another winger and another striker.
