    It's unheard of mate.

I was raging after yesterday but you can't win them all. It doesn't mean that we can't critique or take aim at issues yesterday raised, but we will be back.

Henrik was a bit dodgy at the old penalties as well. One of life's mysteries.

Maeda has scored 33 this season yet I wasn't confident with him taking it and it nearly rang true.

His technique on them is mince. Like me taking one at 5s just kinda toe pokes it.

Some players just aren't great at them. Messi hasn't always been great and he's the best player ever to grace the planet *for me*.

Broken record again, but the subs at 65 took off our two best pen takers.

My first thought at the end of extra time was that we didn't have enough penalty takers. Not that we are great at them at the best of times but I feared the worst.

Credit where it's due because the sheep pens (see what I did?) were top drawer.

Mind you they probably practiced them all week because they set up for a 0-0.

Cos Rodgers took them all off. Madness they subs he made at the time he made them.

I thought looking at him that it looked like a kind of “ah * it” type of penalty.

Just the way he struck it looked weird to me. Looked like a guy that felt resigned to defeat.

Again, could just be how he takes his penalties. Wasn’t a good one anyway

I think he needs to start using his football brain more now than ever with his pace dropping off significantly in the last season or 2. His pace is was made him so good in that holding role, now its a clear weakness in our midfield as he’s far better up the pitch.

Also think he missed having Hatate next to him whose workrate covers a lot of the midfield and Bernardo isn’t fully match fit then Engles got hooked before him. Just a series unfortunate events but what it will do is keep the fire lit in him and the team to come back stronger.

His pen against the Huns wasn't great either. I agree he didn't think much and just had a punt which can work.

    Anyway. We move.

    Agree on Maeda penalty

I genuinely think I could take a better penalty & look more technically astute stepping up. Which is bizarre when he is a professional footballer.

Was easily our best player yesterday. I’m glad he doesn’t take trophies for granted like some of our fans and even some of his teammates might do.

Double edged sword it was for McGregor I feel. He's not used to losing, which is very painful in itself, but I think he also realises he is fast approaching the end of the rainbow.

I can't say I can ever recall Broony crying at any stage of his career. We are all wired up differently I suppose.

I’ve always thought Henrik being bad at penalties was a Mandela effect thing. Henrik missed just 4 in 7 years for us and scored 26. For Celtic that gives him a hit rate of just over 86%, which doesn’t suggest he was bad at them.

Over his entire career, Henrik scored 31 and missed 5 penalties. So his overall success rate was 86.11%.

That is weird and you have called that spot on about the Mandela effect. I guess we were so conditioned to the King scoring all the time that a missed penalty sent shockwaves around the world :giggle1:

In contrast, McGregor has missed 3 for us now, and has scored 4 (I think).

It’s probably because he missed one against Boavista and also against the scum. More memorable when they’re in big games.

Maybe Cal deserves a break from the burden of captaining the club. That penno looked like a tired effort. He was one of our best players Saturday and he's done an excellent job since replacing Broony. I'd like to see KT get the armband for next season.

Was gutted for him especially after seeing his reaction but being honest I always think he looks nervy on big occasions and in shootouts etc
