Majority of Spurs fans still think parting ways with Ange is the best outcome after last night. I really hope if this happens they get tanked every week and the big man goes to Leverkusen or another team with Euro football and smashes it. *.

Yeah, also winning the League Cup in Ange’s first season and the belief that instilled had a big bearing on us going on to win the league I think.

As long as Rodgers doesn't get picked up by Tottenham, I'm neutral on Ange staying there. It's been a learning experience for him.

Yeah Dylan Leonard looks very special at 17. Likely to be a star. Plays for Western Utd and has very impressive numbers in the AL . Comparable with Nectar Triantis’ first season and that lad is going to the top.

Happy for him, but not happy for Spurs and their awful fans winning a trophy. Hope he tells them to gtf and ram their club, mic drops and bails.

I could care less about English football but really happy for Ange proving himself to the whole of football.

We should be all over signing Triantis, Hibs are attempting him permanently. If they think he’s in their range then it’s * buttons and a steal for us. He’s 6’3 strong, reads the game well and likes a tackle. But that’s almost not something people notice watching him, because he is * classy. He controls games.

He’s the reason for Hibs incredible turn around and that run when he came into the team. He changed them from constant unlucky played good but it didn’t work sort to solid and winners. He totally transformed everything around him, he gave the guys behind him like Rocki the confidence of the guy infront of him and guys likr Martin Boyle knowing if he makes the run the ball will happen. I’m a massive fan of him, and somehow never knew he was an Aussie. Only 22 as well. We can’t miss out on him I think. I’ve been desperately screaming for Liam Miller but think there’s one of them that have a place in the squad and I’m split between the two. I don’t know who I’d want. Triantis physical attributes might edge it

I vividly remember all the Aussie’s on here saying we’d be like them when he leaves and got laughed at. Hope they * off before they realised they were spot on predicting that

I love after all the stick he’s had, being called naive, can’t defend, can’t grind out those 1-0 wins you need sometimes, he won it in the most un-Ange like way. Parking the bus 5 at the back 80 mins in which was early then 7 minutes injury time, a shambles that * knows where they got 7 from.

And he won it with the way he apparently is clueless to do. Because he’s a winner

Brendan Rodgers has congratulated former Celtic manager and predecessor Ange Postecoglou for winning the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur.

Rodgers succeeded Postecoglou back in 2023 when the Australian left the club to join the English Premier League side, himself reportedly a former managerial target for the North London club.

Despite having a difficult second season at Spurs domestically, the 59-year-old managed to guide the club to a first trophy in 17 years, a feat that was praised by Rodgers.

Speaking ahead of the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen at Hampden, the Irishman took time to recognise Postecoglou’s achievements, following their 1-0 win over Manchester United in Bilbao. “Yeah, it was brilliant,” said the Celtic manager when asked about Wednesday night’s result.

“I am so pleased for Ange on a personal level. It has obviously been a tough season, and he has had to cope with a lot of nonsense this year.

“So, to see him happy at the end of the game and the team, I was so pleased for him.

Earlier in the season, Postecoglou declared to the media that he “always wins things in his second season”, a remark that had been held against him prior to the game in Bilbao.

The current Celtic manager was glad to see Postecoglou’s statement ring true. “I think he was just declaring what he had done in his career, so obviously he has been held up to that statement,” Rodgers said.

“But no, it's absolutely brilliant for him. I think he's gone there, he's worked very hard, brought an idea to the club, trying to change a culture, and that's never easy.

"So to go in and arrive there and then to do that and then give the club the Champions Leagueagain, which is great, and then look to build and continue moving forward next season."

In two years with the club, Postecoglou delivered five trophies in charge of Celtic, including two Scottish Premiership titles, two League Cups and a Scottish Cup.

He was also credited with bringing in the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatatefrom Japan, as well as players such as Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota and Matt O’Riley, amongst others.

Wales international Brennan Johnson scored the all-important goal for Postecoglou's current side last night at San Mames.

You mean he recognised families of Celtic players too? Not surprising tbh.
