That seems really weird now TBH. If he's still capable of this now, at this age, it's hard to imagine that Abada was a better player than him 3 years ago.

Michael Stewart rightly pointing out his movement for that goal (it shows up really clearly on some of the fan footage).

I have to disagree with him about the shot, though. It wasn't an amazing shot (it needed to be lifted a bit to beat a CL-standard keeper IMO), but the disguise on it was what beat the keeper.

When James Forrest scored in the fourth minute of added time on Saturday, it ensured that the Champions would not mark Trophy Day with a defeat.

But that last-gasp equaliser against St Mirren had an even greater significance, because it meant that James Forrest has now scored in 16 consecutive seasons as a Celtic, going all the way back to his debut goal in May 2010.

It is another remarkable achievement by a remarkable player, and Paradise erupted to acclaim the goal, Forrest's 109th for Celtic in 527 appearances.

In terms of scoring in consecutive seasons, it puts James Forrest alongside Paul McStay and Jimmy McGrory. Only Bobby Lennox (17 seasons) and Jimmy McMeneny (18 seasons) are ahead of him now.

Here's a guide to James Forrest's stats, season by season, while our Gallery features an image from Forrest's first goal in each of the 16 seasons.

    SEASON BY SEASON
    • 2009/10: 2 substitute; 1 goal
    • 2010/11: 17 starts, 8 sub: 3 goals
    • 2011/12: 34 starts, 9 sub; 9 goals
    • 2012/13: 18 starts, 11 sub; 4 goals
    • 2013/14: 20 starts, 7 sub; 7 goals
    • 2014/15: 17 starts, 12 sub; 4 goals
    • 2015/16: 18 starts, 15 sub; 2 goals
    • 2016/17: 37 starts, 9 sub; 8 goals
    • 2017/18: 49 starts, 9 sub; 17 goals
    • 2018/19: 53 starts, 3 sub; 17 goals
    • 2019/20: 46 starts, 1 sub; 16 goals
    • 2020/21: 12 starts, 5 sub; 4 goals
    • 2021/22: 17 starts, 15 sub; 4 goals
    • 2022/23: 5 starts, 18 sub; 5 goals
    • 2023/24: 8 starts, 20 sub; 7 goals

When you see those stats there in black and white it truly is astonishing what Forrest has accomplished in his career. He probably has had to build an extension on his house a while back just to fit everything in.

I'd start him personally but there's an argument that he'll cause them way more problems coming on fresh for half hour on the big pitch, against an open, tired sheep outfit..

Based on his last 2 performances for sure there is a strong argument Forrest should start but I think also the argument to bring him on after an hour or so is pretty strong as well and I think thats what we most likely will see.

When I find out who started reversing their lorry while I was making my speech I'll tie them to Daizen and have him run laps of Barrowfield.

Did they not make a big fuss about not going to pressers feeling clubs disrespected fan media? Can’t stand that site. They are a big drive of hyperbole and sensationalist as *. Click bait from them is worse than what they accuse of the MSM

You know the Ange years are interesting, I have zero memory of him under Ange outwith a 3 year extension.

He was bit part looking at the starts and sub appearances but he was * effective when on as well.

Ange also clearly liked him, really liked him, but not so much on the pitch. It’s interesting that. He could have been devastating numbers with more gametime, but I think it was the relentless pressing he couldn’t do. He’s clearly still very fit but I think we all thought he wasn’t because of him round that time. He’s fit but he is because he knows when to contain his energy and when to use it now

Jinky always overshadowed the conversation growing up but when I looked into Bobby Lennox as I got older, I’m split between if being able to pick seeing one live it’s between two Bobby’s, Murdoch and Lennox. Some highlights and opposition talking about Lennox though, he’s a guy that would thrive in football still. He was a terror, rapid, hard as nails and an absolute instinct to finish. Jamesy is gunning for his next record now, 17 seasons in a row from Bobby
