It's a discussion we need to have I think.

Should Schemeichel or Sinisalo be our No.1 goalkeeper now.

Mods please add a poll, if you want.

    Sinisalo for me.

That isn't to take anything away from what Kasper has done, he's been fantastic and arguably an improvement on Joe for some (on a par with each other for me).
But we signed Sinisalo as the future number one. We gave Kasper a 1 year deal with the option of a 2nd year.
We have since seen what Sinisalo can do, he is capable most certainly domestically.

I'd be having Sinisalo start (I would give him the final, but that is another conversation) the new season, with Kasper being around to help out if he happens to hit a poor run of form. Utilise the experience of Kasper to help coach Sinisalo through the next season as the number one. Otherwise we go in to next season with Kasper as number one, Sinisalo likely only getting 3-5 games and come summer 2026 we are having a debate on whether or not we need someone more experienced alongside Sinisalo in case he has a bad patch.
That is what next season should be.

    Schmeichel easily.

Sinisalo has done well and want to see a bit more of him next season but Schmeichel was excellent in Europe and played a part in our clean sheet run early season. His distribution is also the best I've seen of any Celtic keeper.

Schmeichel's still the better keeper. Been class for most of the season and on the biggest stage..

Best I've ever seen at us for distribution and has a bundle of experience..

Bit of a silly thread. Sinisalo will have his time..

Kasper is still the man but Sinisalo is looking pretty good on the evidence so far, healthy position to be in.

Talking of GK's can we no get Bain aff the wage bill ?

    Schmeichel.

However Sinisalo should get lots of opportunities next year - let’s see if he can be his successor. He’s looked promising.

Has to be Kasper but the management of sinisalos exposure to first team minutes need to see a steady increase. He should be given the domestic cup comps and the odd league game with Kasper coming off a midweek hopefully cl game.

Am I the only one who has seen nothing particularly exciting about Sinisalo? Don't get me wrong, he's clearly very competent and I wouldn't be totally against him as our number 1; but I'd honestly like better.

Obviously Kasper but Sinisalo needs more minutes next season. Cup games and the odd league game here and there. Said this before but listening to the podcasts Kasper has been on I get the feeling he wouldn't be too impressed about being a no2, that just my impression I get from him

I still remember when it seemed to be a rule that Celtic had to have a * goalkeeper. So am still delighted with competent

That seems to be the way we are heading and it makes perfect sense.

Fair point. I can't complain too much, as I'm old enough to remember when Rab Douglas (who was a reasonably competent goalkeeper) was a significant upgrade on the likes of Gordon Marshall and Jonathan Gould (shudder). And we all remember Scott Bain. So there's that.

    And yet...

I can't help thinking that with an Artur Boruc or a Fraser Forster in goal, maybe we win the UEFA Cup in Seville.

So I'm not complaining if Sinisalo is the future, but I'd genuinely like better TBH .

There isn't many top class 23 year old keepers knocking about. It's a position that gets better with age and experience well beyond that..

He was brought to a big club in Aston Villa in the EPL
Went on loan and was player of the year learning his trade in the English lower leagues
Been capped a few times for Finland
Stepped in from the cold unexpectedly and performed really well overall for Schmeichel

There's no danger he'll be our number 1 in the near future..

Talking of keepers. Living in * * north wales and my local asda was selling GK gloves.

Only Celtic GK gloves... my son immediately told me and done so knowing full well I'd buy them.

    Buy them I did
