Leaving his 'shots into orbit' aside, thought he was excellent. Seemed very alert, making great runs in the final third and just generally in the zone. A glimpse of things to come and not for the first time. Cannot wait to see what he brings coming in after the summer break, think he's gonna be a special player.

Almost had another assist, with the free kick for Idah. Might have been offside though.

Midfielder Arne Engels has credited fellow Celtic teammate James Forrest as a prime example of his side’s hunger to win more silverware, as the club closes in on more major honours this season.

The 21-year-old has nearly completed his first season at the club, following his £11 million move from FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga last year. Last Saturday, he made his 50th appearance for Celtic in a 3-1 victory over Hibernian at home.

With a treble firmly in the team’s sights, Engels name-dropped the most decorated Celtic player as an inspiration for the continuing hunger amongst the ranks. “It always stays with you,” he said when asked about the taste of success concerning trophies at the club.

"Even if you look at James (Forrest), there are many trophies he has. He still wants to win another one. I think it's the winning feeling that we are addicted to and that we really want to have in the end. I think that's also a good thing here that everybody wants to win and wants to win trophies.

"That's also something different and new to me, and I really like it."

When asked if the demand to win at Celtic surprised him, Engels continued: “No, I expected that. That's also a reason why I wanted to come here, because it is expected to win here while also playing for trophies and the league.

“It's something different, and I really wanted to experience that because that's a totally different mentality than in other teams. I also wanted to add that to my bag, to show that and to have that.

“It was a big reason to come here

Truly awful today but seen enough to know there is a player in there, somewhere - next season is a big one.
    Hopefully he kicks on.

Punt. Not good enough. Even for half the amount we paid for him he should be doing a lot better.

Abysmal today, and average most of the season.

Aye annoyed me a bit, seemed a bit lazy.

Big season for him next year, he's had a good season in general but needs to be showing a lot more.

Next season will be a big season for Engels. He has to build on his first year here, and show a real statement of intent next season.

The current midfield is not quite right and balanced properly, and with one or two new midfielders coming in the summer, we may see Engels flourish even better in a more robust and combative midfield.

    He's never a number 8.

Unless Rodgers is gonna change the shape of his midfield then he'll continue to struggle

    What is he then?

He doesn't have that quick feet and guile to be an 8 and he showed against the huns that he isn't a 6..

He's played majority of his career as a 6 in a double pivot. Probably played his best game for us playing that role v Atalanta.

When signed Rodgers arrogantly claimed he wasn't a box to box player but he'd make him one.

Dunno where you'd get the stats on it but lucky of he's got any more than a couple of goals/assists from open play

Well the majority of our games aren't gonna have 2 sitting type midfielders. It just won't happen and he won't be starting ahead of McGregor any time soon..

He's been playing further forward for us for most of the season as that's why we signed him. He sees his self as more of an 8 I'm sure due to his involvement higher up with balls whipped im from wide in open play and set pieces than defensive and played as an attacking mid for Belgium in their games as well..
