There will be interest/bids this summer no doubt but I don't see Leeds being a problem in terms of our ability to keep Maeda.

So true. If Maeda was to move on this summer there is now way we should be selling him for anything less then a clear record fee.

If we managed to get him to sign a new contract extension that would be the best possible news. Would be amazing if he did.

Win win really. Player gets a big pay rise and we get a bigger sale (unlike the kyogo deal!)

I still love Daizen Maeda and I don't begrudge him a move TBH. I hope he does really wherever he goes.

Henriks move was good for him. He proved he could play at the very top level at a relatively old age. I enjoyed the fact that my peers at the time had to take notice of him and show him respect. If Daizen does leave us then I will enjoy seeing him hopefully make a name for himself and show everyone why he's got 19 pace.

Daizen Maeda has been named the William Hill Premiership Player of the Year, adding to the awards he’s already picked up this season – the Celtic Player of the Year and the PFA Scotland Player of the Year.

The Japanese internationalist has enjoyed an outstanding season, helping the Hoops win the League Cup and the Premiership title.

Along the way, he has scored 31 goals across all competitions, including 16 in the league, which has brought his overall total to 60 for Celtic since he netted on his debut back in January 2022.

Daizen’s first Premiership goal this season came in the 3-0 Glasgow derby win over Rangers at Celtic Park back in September, while his most recent was in the 5-1 home win over Kilmarnock in April.

He’s also netted two hat-tricks in this campaign – one at Hampden in the League Cup semi-final and the other at home in a Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers.

And the 27-year-old, along with the rest of his team-mates, will be aiming to complete a domestic Treble when they face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden on May 24.

Before then, Brendan Rodgers' side will lift the William Hill Premiership trophy at Paradise this Saturday following their final league game of the season, against St Mirren, in what has been another title-winning campaign for the Hoops.
