True, lots of people say they only want football songs, but forget about the fields of Athenrye, Let the people sing etc. which are both about the struggle in Ireland.

All perfectly good non-sectarian songs that are part of Celtic heritage. Celtic were formed to help poor irish immigrants in Glasgow who were mostly there due to the potato famine in Ireland, which is what the Fields of Athenrye is about.

Its the IRA * we can do without and that * people off.

i wish parkhead would keep up the noise as they do in the champions league home games so it would motivate the players to be determined to win evey SPL home game

Its about an irish kid being shot by british soldiers and the lies of the British army.

The last verse is about a '*' british soldier falling and dying.

What does any of that have to do with Celtic?

Singing * like that we are no better than THEM.

Whats wrong with Hail Hail, Celtic Symphony, YNWA, Fields of Athenrye, This Land is Your Land ... etc

We dont need to act like bams to have a good atmosphere.

I don't think there's much wrong with them , but that's just my opinion. The problem is that there is absolutely NO atmosphere at all at Celtic Park and quite frankly it's not good enough. If your'e not prepared to stand up and sing you can gtf.

Why do you want to sing songs like that at games?

Stick to Celtic songs like Rossenspeil says

    No

Im 30 years old mate and stood in the jungle singin all of these songs when I was a daft teenager who didnt know any better.

If i can convince 2 or three people not to be as daft as I was, then I'll see that as progress. :50:

I like rebel songs and what they stand for, i fail to see how they are sectarian.
Its against english opression and tyrany, nothing to do with rangers.

I do agree that we shouldnt sing them at Celtic games, as it gives them ammo to use against us.

The point i'm trying to make is that there is no " Celtic " songs sung at parkhead. There's no singing at all.
