Greg Taylor

  1. Clearly the plan will be for Tierney to start the big games. Taylor gives you a reliable second option for your bread and butter games.

We’ll have the best left back in world football that we can reasonably get and an able, reliable consistent backup that can play a different type of game when the match needs it.

    It’s good sense.

  2. Like Ralston, happy of he stays or goes. Nothing against them at all I think as 2nd choices they are adequate.

If Taylor stays, I wonder if another LB could be signed along with KT which then gives Taylor a more versatile use as 2nd choice LB with a 3rd choice younger understudy and an emergency option for midfield in a defensive capacity.

  3. The lengths the club will go to to avoid having to scout an adequate left back.

    6 years and counting

  4. I'd be fine with KT and Greg being our full back options tbh along with a youngster to get some time.

  5. About 300 forum users kidding on they never seen this :giggle2:

  6. I don't understand your dislike for him. It's weird.

He's a player several managers have trusted, and the current one seems to. He is apparently quite popular within the team. And we are signing a player from Arsenal who could easily have gone to other big clubs.

  7. Just wait until the Celtic announcement

  8. Buzzing for it bro

  9. Absolutely we would be in great shape if our full back options next season were Johnston and Ralston for the right and Tierney and Taylor for the left. That would be as good as it could get for where we are at financially I would say.

  10. You hit on a very good point which is not widely appreciated. He is very well liked in the team and indeed is one of the leaders within the group so keeping him would be a very good piece of business IMHO if he signs the new deal we have offered him.

  11. Good news.

I'll think he will take the much improved offer, he would be daft not too. He gets on very well with Tierney too, and he might end up getting more games than he expected. Could even be a midfield filler at a push.

  12. Rodgers might hopefully explore that if he stays. There's definitely potential there.

  13. Taylor started off as a midfielder with Killie. Would stop people moaning about his lack of height, speed and physicality all the time. One thing about Taylor, is despite these disadvantages, he has overcome all of them and seen off all challengers, and probably Schlupp now to his spot. He does possess exceptionally good football intelligence too.

  14. He's bang average and always has been, he's barely improved since he signed. Still can't defend, still can't take a man on. He's the absolute opposite of what a Celtic full back should be. He's played due to their being nobody else. He's been a weak link and been targeted as such by just about every club we have played in his time here.

Took us 6 years to replace Tierney with Tierney.

It's * disgraceful tbh and now we are reportedly going to throw money at a guy to be a squad player who has shown time and again that he isn't good enough. * me let's just give Ralston and Scales £25k a week as well

  15. I didn't realise that he started as a midfielder.

I've noticed in Europe that he's honest if he's struggling defensively. But going forward he's got some real talent at times.

Domestically he'd be great back up to Tierney but he could have a bit more to offer. And home grown.

  17. We literally moan about our lack of height, pace and physicality in midfield all the time without adding Taylor to it.

  18. Yeah I know. But Taylor's a hard little *. Would add some dig there. And we do need dig in that midfield.
