Tough game that. They went the hammer thrower route and we couldn't really get going. 2-0 is an excellent result all things considered.

 

If I was a Kilmarnock fan, I'd be raging at the unfairness of the result. And Rodgers should be raging because we obviously think beating Leipzig is enough to be just phoning it in afterwards.

Going there on that pitch after such a tough CL game was a potential banana skin. We've done well there.

Big Luke should have been on from the start, these sort of games are perfect for him

 

"Made to work for it" is such an understatement. Tough, tough venue, that only 1 other visiting team has left Rugby Park with a win this season - and that includes against the various teams they played in European qualifying.

So in context, a 2-0 win I am more than relieved to be walking away with, thanks very much. The entire team had horror moments, with the exception of Kasper, who really did earn his pay in keeping a clean sheet today.

Moving on.

 

Just good to get a win going in to it.

It means we were the dominant side up until that point. Second half was a lot worse though.

Schmeichel has been good today.

 

A tough day at the office. Killie probably deserved something from that game they will feel aggrieved but thankfully maximum points. Kuhn once again stepping up. Some of our defensive play was very slack and very casual from our mid field. My MOTM today has to be Schemical. Only for him Killie would probably get a draw if not on to win the game.

Despise playing on that pitch all the same.
