I’ve liked him every game I’ve watched him tbh. Definitely wouldn’t have minded him staying as a squad player for us but with the options we have in midfield now it would be tough for him to see any game time

Delighted for him. While it's looking less likely he'll ever have a place in our squad (more because of how strong our midfield has become recently than anything he's done), fans were too quick to write him off because of one bad half in a pre-season game. It'd be an incredible story if he managed to get a cap for South Korea.

It is understood that Austria Vienna have serious interest in Celtic midfielder Kwon this summer.

The South Korean joined the Hoops back in 2023 but is yet to feature in a competitive match.

It is understood the Bundesliga club are keen to take the 24-year-old to Austria and Kwon is open to a Parkhead exit.

Kwon spent last term on loan at Hibs where he managed 22 outings and before that he turned out for St Mirren where he played nine games.

We understand Vienna actually attempted to bring Kwon to the club last summer on a loan swoop.

However at the time the club were unable to take any more foreign players on loan having already exhausted the limit in the league which is a maximum of six.

Now they are considering a move for the Korean under-23s cap who could depart Celtic Park on a permanent move.

It is understood Stephan Helm is on the lookout for a player who can play in the No.6 role and he likes Kwon for that spot.

Kwon can leave the Scottish Premiership giants for the right fee and if the circumstances are ideal for all parties.

He has been nothing more than a fringe player since his £1million move to Glasgow two years ago.

And while there is believed to be a player in there, he may not reach the level required of him at Celts under Brendan Rodgers.

Yeah it will be probably half a million but a decent sell on just in case. But importantly it would be someone off the books.

 

Good luck to him. Never worked here and was likely never ever going to be good enough. Always felt his signing was to help Oh, when he moved over here.

Any sort of money in the door with a decent sell on and I'll be delighted. Austria Vienna would be a cracking move for him.
