Not really convinced you can call what Trusty (and Sheffield Utd generally) were up to last season “playing” tbf :56:

The quotes earlier from their fans, claiming he's played out of position and is a left CB, literally cheered me up with this potential signing.

It's literally the position he would play in for us. So happy days if he does that and recaptures proper form

The fact that Barry Ferguson is suggesting he’d be good for us says it all !

Efe’s first 6 months leading up to the African cup was * class.

Came back into the player we all know as the bombscare.

Efe gets a hard time but he was one of the only players with the skills to calmly dribble by that best Barcelona team in history multiple times.

Then, his debut performance against raith in midfield. If you've ever seen a better more composed and skillful * ever your lying to yourself.

Shame he never recovered from that night against juventus. Cheating dirty holding *.

Anyway what am saying is, if his head wasn't shaped like a 50p coin, he'd be our top scoring defender ever. Fact.

I remember his debut so well, opposition couldn’t get near him I thought we had signed the next Yahya Toure.

As much as a bomb scare as he is he will remain a bit of a cult hero to me.

Didn’t at first, but I’ve come round since hearing how he’d gotten on at Birmingham, etc. Sheffield United play such an idiosyncratic style of football that good footballers can look rubbish in it as much as awful players can look decent in it (e.g. McBurnie, Lundstram).

I remember when Brendan first came here he played Efe a good few times before the penny dropped that he was simply not to be trusted :giggle1:

maybe I’m getting my memories mixed up who knows

I'll always remember his as the guy that no matter how many horrific costly mistakes he made, Lennon would not drop him. After the African Cup of Nations he wasn't just a bomb scare, he was nuclear weapon detonating at the heart of our defense.

I've never seen a player stay in the side who deserved to be dropped so much. Still raging about it.

Celtic have launched a £5million bid for Auston Trusty - and Sheffield United boss Chris Wilders has admitted there are offers that the Blades have to consider before the deadline. The US international was dropped to the bench for the EFL Cup defeat to Barnsley.

Speaking at full-time to the BBC, Wilder was pressed on dropping stars amid rising interest. He responded: "I have had no issues with the boys. There is obviously interest in a few of them and I have talked to the boys, we have dialogue, and I want to talk to them and tell them what is best for them. I just want them to concentrate on that green bit and putting in performances, and the rest takes care of itself

I don't think any other club are putting in bids for him so should be no problem. Hope this one proves me wrong. Big, big dud vibes.

But i guess you dont get 35+ games per season if you are completely useless. But if you placed a chip in a bag of *, that chip would also smell *.
