Alex Valle will be one of the players who will leave Barça in these last days of the transfer market. As MD reported and SPORT was able to confirm, the Catalan full-back is going on loan to Celtic Glasgow, but with a prior renewal with the Catalan club for another year , until June 2026

The Scottish club will take charge of his entire contract this season - which is around 1.5 million - and will offer the Alella native minutes and regularity, which is what he has been looking for since returning from his loan to Levante

As reported by this newspaper a few weeks ago , his latest renewal included a clause whereby, if he is not registered before 1st August this year, his starting price would drop from thirty to three million euros . An amount which, after his development during this pre-season under Hansi Flick, has become a real bargain.


The player's priority was to stay at Barça, but he wanted to see what his role would be under the new coach. And the truth is that Flick has trusted Gerard Martín as Balde's replacement in the first two league games, although Valle had a great performance in preseason as a right back .

All parties have therefore decided that the best option would be to renew the contract and send him on loan to Celtic Glasgow, so that the Catalan club can continue to control the full-back but he can continue to develop in the elite without seeing his progress cut short.

 

Jota played just 18 games for Valladolid before coming to us.

 

The Barca youth conveyor belt is absolutely astonishing right now. I'd say it is almost better than when Messi and Iniesta came through. No one on that level of course, but some very, very good young players.

Balde returning after a lengthy injury would mean Valle's options would be limited there, but Balde on his game is a fantastic player. Add to that Fermin Lopez, Yamine Lamal, Pau Cubarsi and now this season Marc Casado and Marc Bernal.

On top of that you have Ansu Fati and Gavi - both long term injuries, with Fati a shadow of the player he should have been. Lastly Mika Faye and Xavi Simons have left in recent times and look very good. There are others too.

Short version - Barca youth players are on fire right now.

You still hurting the fact Rodgers has called out our total lack of scouting structure and saying its no happened fast enough for him. Pure ripping the pish oot yi mate

 

So basically confirmed it's a straight loan.. meh.

Ultimately a stop gap which I'd accept at this stage.. looking forward to the next summer is a worry though.
