possibly bring this guy in as an out and out DM and push McGregor into O'Rileys position?

Renato Tapia 's name is being mentioned by half the world, supposedly he did not play during the 2024 Copa América season to avoid getting injured and join a good team. Far from knowing certainties, we have to be guided blindly by what is said in the world about the Peruvian, who could land at any club, but theoretically, we are seeing how he behaves within a transfer market that does not have him as a main protagonist

Renato Tapia is currently the main target for clubs such as Union Berlin of the Bundesliga , Fluminense in Brazil, and Celtic of Scotland . All of them have a positive present, and they could decide once and for all with the Peruvian national team international . But under some circumstances, there is still no firm decision on the international table.

This information recently appeared on Transfermarkt , where it was stated that Renato Tapia 's chance to improve his life was close to being realized, but in the end that is not a 100% certainty. Because we see the former Sporting Cristal player in the youth categories, very calm, living a spectacular vacation. Football, it seems, can still wait a little longer, and there is no exaggerated need for crazy decisions to be made.

While this is happening, the days leading up to the next South American Qualifiers match are getting closer. In September, Peru will play against Colombia in Lima, precisely at the Estadio Monumental, but far from being a problem, it seems to still be seen as a distant date. The next match for the team will be away against Ecuador, where the best Renato Tapia will be needed, however, there is still no major news

Calmac for O’Riley would be a downgrade in that position now. Not got the flair, passing ability, creativity or the finishing of O’Riley.

While I think thats harsh on McGregor I also don't think we will sign anyone who will be as good or better than Matt. So with Holm still developing and not a starter, Bernardo in as another option and possibly Tapia coming in to give us more solidity I don't see McGregor being pushed forward as weakening the side any more than it will inevitably be when O'Riley goes.

Think he is far more useful to us in games higher up the pitch anyway (you seen that last season when we were needing a goal or behind in games) and in Europe we've been crying out for a proper DM for ages.

We have been crying out loud for a CDM like Tapia for years, since Scott Brown left, a snarling, crunching tackler who breaks up play and takes no prisoners.

I'll start believing this when there is some substance to this, and when I see a more credible link, but it would allow us to push McGregor up to an 8, and give us a more combative alternative to Iwata, who I like, but needs to add a bit of steel to his game, which could still come under proper coaching and guidance.

*, I suppose when you notice that everyone is wearing jackets and carrying coats, it definitely indicates it’s not a Spanish summers day alright!

I'm not so sure about that because the rain in Spain falls mainly on the planes
