    Deadly serious.

The manager and his backroom staff have EARNED the right for our complete trust.

I'm choosing not to * my pants, although as said, the scepticism is understood.

    Oh the manager has.
    Those above him, no.
    They've earned distrust and contempt

He never said those above though. He said manager and backroom.

    I'm inclined to agree.

Call me naive but I'll wait to the window shuts before losing my *.

Probably the stupidest thing I've said but I'll stick by it for the next 6 weeks.

Its already criminal but not surprising that we have been so slow to fill the voids of whats needed in our squad.

Are our board held accountable? Why cant we just get it right and learn our lessons?

Being so slow to act has only went against us in the past, especially as our CL campaign has drawn closer.

We need bums on seats on the way out to pre season.

I've not seen fhe Danish guy live but from footage he seems.like a hard working, nippy type more than being technically really good.

Would take him but I like a winger with a trick or two in him who can pick a pass.

    Really miss Jota. Badly.

Well, if you want to go down that road, then the "board" deserve credit too for bringing in a manager who won the league and cup double, and whose signings impacted on it too...

We haven't even played our 2nd pre-season game yet and folk are already mindlessly shouting "get Lawwell out" - it's mind numbing and honestly thick and petulant as *.

I'm at least going to give them the full transfer window before jumping on that particular bandwagon.

Radioclyde just said we’ve signed Bernardo for 4.2 million … not seen it anywhere else yet though.

I actually think those two things I've put in bold illustrate perfectly the very patterns that are hurting us. I'm very happy with Rodgers and I don't think we could realistically attract a better manager to the SPL; but let's be honest, the way he was hired was us in a nutshell. No taking the time to go through the procedure; nope, we sent someone to get Dermott Desmond's mate from his holiday.

Now on this occasion, it just so happens that Desmond's mate is a world-class manager; but it's the same kind of thinking that sees us offering Neil Lennon the job in the showers and ignoring Ange for months while we begged Eddie Howe to come. We don't take these things seriously enough.

As for his signings, I don't deny that Idah's loan deal was inspired; but isn't it worrying that the majority of the best signings we've made in recent years were either loan deals where we chose to buy (Jota, CCV) or personally identified by the manager (Kyogo, Maeda, Hatate, Mooy, and (hopefully) Idah)? I can only really think of O'Riley. Juranovic and Starfelt that buck that trend. In fact, it was already a bit like that before Ange. Our best players in Lenny's treble season were Forster (personally requested by Lenny) and Eddie (former loan). Edit: and Frimpong arguably; but that's still 2 to 1.

This doesn't fill me with confidence regarding our recruitment structure.

The board, specifically the usual named ones, don't get fresh starts every preseason

The frustrations and annoyance isn't born out of 3 weeks of this window. It's seasons upon season's of valid criticism. Season upon season of evidence that we never push forward, never show ambition.
Season upon season of watching us become worse in Europe.

We don't need to wait til the 17th of August to realise the board and those in charge of growing the club and the finances are tight and slow to act.

3 and a half weeks until the season starts and our squad is considerably weaker than it was when the season finished.

One striker worth his salt, one left back and missing a proper goalie. Magic.

Well I've never heard anyone overrate him. He's clearly a good player with potential, so he wouldn't be a bad signing, and that's not based on a game against us.

I want him out because he's a dinosaur that's already had his second, third and fourth chances.

Much the same mindset as me, I said after the last 2 windows that I'll hold off judgement till after this summer and see if BR actually gets the kind of backing we want him to have. I'm as frustrated as anyone with the last windows but still hopeful for this one.

I feel a lot depends on shifting players first tho as we've got a horribly bloated squad but positions like GK and LB shouldn't be reliant on that so hopefully see some movement on those soon'ish at least.

We're gonna sell O'Riley before we buy anyone of note, aren't we?

Nevermind the fact we're stacked with cash.

  20. Optimistic to assume we will buy anyone of note at any point.
