Those list are always fun, but dubious, is Tonali seriously equal to Maeda in pace.

I really doubt it

 

At the start of the season, the idea of Forrest being our best winger at crunch time in the league would be mad and let’s be honest, it shouldn’t really be the case.

And that’s not to degrade Forrest, more so the state of the other wingers at the club.

Said it before but we should not be relying on a player who has been bit part, really, for the last couple of season and pretty much seen as way past his best. Sums up our shambolic recruitment.

 

Daizen Maeda was back with the group this morning. How is he and is he back in your thoughts for the weekend?

He'll come into the squad for the weekend and it is great news for us. When you think he was maybe not going to be available to us that was the initial thinking medically. He has recovered remarkably well and we can all see that he is a specimen physically. It's great that he's back and it's brilliant news for us.


That's Daizen back ahead of schedule, and Callum (McGregor) came back way ahead of schedule is that testimony to the desire, belief and professionalism of the group?

Yes. It is the type of group that is always required here at Celtic. Celtic's culture is based very much on humility and hard work and being in an environment that allows you to grow and develop. Both of those players epitomise that. They are very humble guys and they get on with their work and have real professionalism in their approach to their work. That's what allows you to get back.

 

Delighted to have him back. I absolutely want him upgraded in the summer but we really need him and a very valuable squad player.

 

I don’t even know what an ‘upgrade’ on him looks like. Palma on the ball, passing, crossing, shooting etc. is miles above Maeda.

But Maeda is so far ahead of him both fully fit who we would all pick to be first choice in that position.

Maeda’s a guy I don’t even complain about or get surprised when he works himself into a good position and blooters it out for a goal kick, ball landing in Jock Stein upper from a cross.

cos when he’s no there, I desperately miss him. And every time he breaks me to complain about him, he * does something that I don’t think he has the technical ability to do.

 

He's one of the most confusing players we've ever had. He absolutely serves a purpose and is suited more to particular games. I suppose I think we should have a 'better' starter than him but what specific attributes that player has is up for debate - broadly, I'd like them to have better technical ability than Maeda.

 

Needs minutes today, which I'm sure he'll get.

We miss him badly.

 

Or the ball hits off his face and goes into the goal.

He's a phenomenon. He's also being played out of position really, which is often overlooked.

 

30-35 mins today would be ideal.

 

He's gonna ruin Tavpen next weekend!!
