Yes he did change the Falkirk game, he raised the tempo and created the goals.

He cant be played with 2 recognised forwards, this would make our midfield too light unless we played 3 at the back which wont happen!

A floater in behind the strikers has been tried umteen times in scottish football and has always failed miserably, with the exception of Lubo!

You said you didn't want a conservative estimate. 16 goals from midfield. I could see 25 as a striker.

You said JVOH wouldn't score 2 vs Falkirk. Considering Samaras had 3 clear breakaways that means you don't think JVOH has the ability to score 2/3 breakaways with his feet.

So now your going from saying JVOH can't score 2/3 breakaways with his feet to saying hes not quite as quick as Hartson. Next you'll be saying hes just abit slower than Messi.

You said you didn't think Maloney had the speed to be a good central striker. Now your bragging about Samaras speed.

Yes its a long time to get better. 24 is around the prime age for footballers.

I mentioned Villa once, after you.... then i replied to a point you made regarding my opinion of Shaun!

The two options on the poll was an attempt to stop 30 other options such as back up winger, back up midfielder, substitute, suit in the stand man etc.... it could have gon on forever!

Strikers score more than midfielders. Hmmmmm Kenny Miller scored how many at Celtic, how many at Derby?? Lafferty has scored somrthing like 9 goals in 2 years at Burnley, surely a midfielder scored more than that!

However again you cant look at previous years. Thats the beauty of sport, every game, every match, every half and every season are different. Unpredictable... Its impossible to determine!

So what exactually is the different between the option squad player and back up player?

In what year did Celtics leading MF scorer outscore Celtics leading ST scorer?

The conservative comment was a Politics joke dimwit! You cant predict these things!

I drew the similarities between Hartson and JVoH, bot differences, with regard to their pace.

Samaras is faster than Maloney. I also said Maloneys pace wasnt enough to compensate for his shortfalls in height, power, strength and goal scoring ability.

Samaras has height, pace and a certain degree of strength and ability to score goals.

you better get your reading glasses on pal! Think before you jump to conclusions, read the words and understand the sentences before making it up yourself!

So you agree that he created all 3 goals vs Falkirk yet you want him on the bench?

Like you said every year is different and it has worked before. Our "recognized strikers" haven't been scoring goals.

Well having been at the game and watched it, its quite hard to disgree that he created 3 goals albeit he dived for the free kick!

    Our recognised strikers are injured.

Yes in a full compliment of players he should be on the bench. Picking a strating 11 isnt all about ability more suitability. Do you listen to the Manager?

Derek Riordan: "Best finisher at the club"

He didnt play because of his attitude and the fact he didnt suit the style, he looked out of sorts when playing.

Gravesen: "It wasnt the player, it was the system"

You cant change a system for one player.

Caldwell: "Best passer of the ball at the club"

    Benfica away? Barca home?

These instances highlight good players and how they are often victims of their own abilities!

Maloney will NEVER be top scorer at CP so we will never need to worry about this. If he ever is I will pay your fees on this for a decade!

Have you ever seen either play??? Did you see Samaras win a penalty pre season against Southampton. He displayed alot of pace in that instance.

Maloney is probably faster with the ball at his feet, but I would say as a runner Sammy would be faster!

Guess we will see but I fully expect Maloney to be starting vs Motherwell.

If Maloney doesn't feature regularly this season then I fully expect that Rangers will win the league and GS will be gone.

Caldwell and Gravessen had plenty of chances and have both been pure * on a number of occasions. Riordan never had a chance because of his attitude. Neither relate to Maloney.

By the way 90% of this forum agrees with me that he should be playing regularly.

Ya he got by Southhamptons backup fullback and then dived in the box to win the penalty.

Maloney is much faster than Sammy with or without the ball. He also has 10x better touch and skill on the ball. You honestly are totally full of *.:31::31:

I would expect him to start also. JVoH is now suspended and we are carrying various injuries.

I never at any point said he wouldnt/ shouldnt feature regularly I said he wouldnt/ shouldnt be first choice!

Riordan never got a chance because he looked like a boy staring into space when he played. His attitude didnt help him! Maloney has been * on a number of occassions like Caldwell and Gravesen. This point was to show that ability isnt the be all and end all in team selection matters.

You said he should be the 1st choice striker! Meaning 31% agree with you!

You said he shouldn't play on the wings due to Naka/McGeady. You said he shouldn't play striker. Where exactly do you see him playing?

Comparing a POTY winner to Graveson, Caldwell, and Riordan is a total joke. According to your comparisons Maloney=Naylor and McGeady=Henrik.
    Excuse me while I have a laugh.:56::56::56:

Graveson and Caldwell have no ability in their current forms. Both have looked average and below for a long time.

No just pointing out that along with being much faster than Sammy Maloney has 10x better touch and skill on the ball.

Since January Gary Caldwell has been the best defender on our books!

Well if JVoH is suspended a place remains in the team, another again if Skippy isnt fit. That was difficult eh?

Did Gravesen not win EPL awards... surely that makes him better than Maloney his award is bigger :56:im joking really! Im comparing the principal of selection were WGS had said these are 3 of the best players at the club, yet they have found themselves left out at one point or another!

    Its not all about ability!

That is very debatable and hardly saying much as our defense is *.

So you think Maloney should play if 2/3 of JVOH, Samaras, and Skippy are injured and you think that is going to give him enough playing time to score 10+ times with 20+ assists? Wow you rate him higher than I do.

I don't care if Gravesen won the best player ever award when he was in the EPL. The fact is he has been * for Celtic and thats all I care about. If you think Graveson, Caldwell, and Riordan are three of the best players at Celtic you must have been drop kicked by your mom as a baby a few times.

Hes still a * of a lot faster than Samaras. Not even close between them.
