On what metric is he better than Kyogo though? Kyogo has a better goals ratio and best individual season with 34 goals. Undoubtably more of a fans favourite than Edouard ever was. 7 Glasgow Derby goals in 2023 - Edouard got 4 in total against an inferior Sevco side. Has more iconic goals and scored in the Champions League too.

Kyogo will be remembered far more than Edouard in years to come, think that's fair to say. Also his application was nothing short of a disgrace before he went to Palace, barely tried at Ibrox and missed the target from 5 yards.

Edouard has more to his game than Kyogo and in general is just a better quality player. His application before he left being poor is massively exaggerated by fans because of the importance of that season and because they forget he suffered from Covid; he was one of the few players who still turned up and got 22 goals in a supposedly awful season. Kyogo has missed plenty of chances himself.

The goals ratio isn't an entirely accurate measure of their output as Edouard's is over a longer period which would generally see a decline, whereas if you take their first three seasons they are still pretty similar. You also have to take into account that Kyogo has mostly played as a poacher in a system designed to create chances for him, whereas Edouard often played on the left and was always expected to be part of the build up too.

Edouard was a young prospect when he came to us too, while Kyogo has been playing in his peak years.

I love Kyogo, but Edouard is a better footballer.

Totally agree, Edouard also played mostly under an inferior manager and was a young player compared to Kyogo. Got involved in games more rather than 8-9 touches.

Edouard was class but I’d still take Kyogo in Ange’s system every single time.

Which is fair, and I'd take Edouard in most other systems.

Edouard is a better footballer than Kyogo, but I would say Kyogo is a better striker.

Kyogo can do it in big moments (so could Eddy to be fair, but not quite as much), has elite movement, and is still a decent finisher.

I think it depends what system you want to play as to who you’d pick (I’m imagining them playing as a pair and I think they’d be perfect) but for me, I’d rather have Kyogo.

Wish hooper stayed 1 more season.
Was never going to do much as lone striker at relegation fodder.r..plus the signed van wolfswinkel for 12 mil.
    Poor choice.

Kyogo is more of a thorn in the Huns side than Eddy was. The argument about best since Larsson is always brought up when Kyogo’s form goes slightly up or down and alters as a result.

Eddy was poor for loads of games as well, that has remained as he’s went to Palace. He has a far poorer application than Kyogo, if anything.

See the 9 in a row season, the 352 we had Eddy and Griffiths, would bankrupt myself and take a loan out to throw more dough at it to see that partnership.

Upfront in Europe between the two, even though I would say Kyogo is better and agree with the application point, I’d want Eddy. Kyogo we need to work the ball up the field by outplaying a midfield that’s usually better than us, then he comes alive and will make space regardless of who he’s up against. Dembele first season form I’d say similar, and rate Kyogo higher than him as well. Tactically though, he needs everyone around him to make the most of him, they two don’t.

The best since debate, I’m between Gary Hooper and Kyogo. But the physical aspects of Eddy and Dembele, against teams better than us, is the major shortcoming for Kyogo unfortunately.

In an era of lone strikers, but can’t help but think Kyogo in the 442 two men up top era, he’d have been unstoppable. Henrik had Sutton, imagine Kyogo had a Sutton? The comparison between the two would be without question, and wouldn’t feel as unfair to Kyogo getting compared to Henke as It does even last season. He’s nowhere near Henrik and that’s no insult or criticism, but he’d be by far the closest in a different era.

Crystal Palace are set for a huge summer overhaul under new manager Oliver Glasner, and TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal that striker Odsonne Edouard has been put up for sale.

The French striker, 26, joined Crystal Palace from Celtic in the summer of 2021 and has since scored 18 Premier League goals in 91 games

But with Glasner ushering in a new era at Selhurst Park after replacing Roy Hodgson earlier this season, space needs to made in the squad and money raised in order to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules

With striker Jean Philippe-Mateta enjoying his most prolific season to date with the club, Edouard has been on the fringes for much of the campaign, though he does have seven goals in 28 appearances

Palace have enjoyed a superb recent run of form, culminating in wins over Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester United, which eased any lingering relegation fears and sparked hope of a late surge for the top half. That looks unlikely with Palace trailing 10th-placed Bournemouth by five points with two games to go, but there is certainly a lot of excitement ahead of next season.

just five points away, but now we’ve found ourselves and the players have confidence. That is what we want to read. We are doing well, but we still have a lot to improve

In December, Edouard was quoted by The National, admitting the Premier League was his “end goal” when he was at Celtic. Perhaps that offers some insight into his plans if he does depart from South London this summer.

“From the moment I signed in Scotland my end goal was the Premier League,” he said.

I worked very hard and tried to perform as well as possible to, one day, achieve my dream of the Premier League.

“When the chance came to join Crystal Palace in 2021 I jumped at it

I'd * love him back here playing as a second striker off of Kyogo, but we all know that's unrealistic.

I think he'll be off to a top club in France, the likes of Marseille, Rennes or Lille if Jonathan David is off

His wages are likely too high for us now, but if he came back he’d instantly be first choice.

He won’t come back here, you’re spot on that we can’t afford his wages.

I think there’d be games that would suit him better than Kyogo, but really do think they’d compliment each other well in a partnership with Eddy dropping deep and linking up with Kyogo.

It’s pie in the sky stuff though, do think France is his next destination

It’s rarely the same when a player comes back.

Not seen anything from Kyogo to suggest we can realistically get a better player to play upfront. He’s been immense again this season.

If anything I’d be working hard to build a team that works around him.
