Bernardo & Idah (Poll)

Don't know the price for Idah but Bernardo is too expensive for what he offers

 

Undecided but leaning towards buy.

They have both chipped in with big moments at times without having a real run in the team.

I like them but unsure what fee I'd pay right now.

Ask me at the end of the season.

i think both would be good to have in the squad but if that hindered us from signing better players i wouldnt bother .we need a much better striker and if * forbid we sold both hatate and oriley we would need a huge upgrade in midfield too

 

I’m still undecided on both. For me, it depends on the fee and my fear is they’ll cost a fortune between them.

Bernardo is worth nowhere near £6m right now. He hasn’t done anywhere near enough to justify that price tag for me. You can guarantee that if we do pay £6m for him, he will be the replacement for O’Riley and that’s a huge drop in quality in the midfield. I’m definitely open to him staying but price has to be negotiated. I’d maybe consider somewhere in the region of £3m-£4m… but not for £6m. I think we could find better out there for that sort of fee.

On Idah, the fact there isn’t a buy out option on him worries me. I definitely think he’s been a lazy, rushed signing who’s actually done pretty well since he came in. Think most of us know that the club are chasing Kvistgaarden and they wanted him again in the January window, after pursuing him in the summer. The fact Brondby said no again meant we panicked and got Idah. It’s a worked out in fairness. I just think that Norwich will ask for a fortune. I’ve seen some say that there was an option to buy on his loan in Italy before he came here, which was only worth something like £4m. If it was that sort of price it’s a no * brainer. I’ve then seen other comments saying Norwich want £9m for him. It’s hard to know who to believe.

When it comes to both of them, I’d pay up to £5m for Idah and up to £4m for Bernardo. I’m still not convinced with Bernardo, personally but I’d be willing to give him another shot for a cut price fee. The thing for me is, Gronbaek is available for £7m. It’s a no brainer if he was interested in coming here. Gronbaek is definitely the person to replace O’Riley.

 

I'd take both, Idah just turned 23 and scoring goals and has a bit of strength but doesn't give away free kicks. Bernardo just turned 22, can score, holds his nerves against big teams. Both will improve with coaching and experience.

 

Voted Bernardo only, not convinced with Idah yet, hopefully he proves me wrong in the final part of the season.

Thats about where I am as well. For me its not just about are both starters right now. The facts are we have the money and there is no reason why we can't go out and upgrade the squad by signing both of these lads, plus they are both young with plenty of growth very possible. With Idah I would look to sell Oh and that would be a clear squad upgrade having Kyogo and Idah as our 2 main strikers. I think most of us accept that it is very likely O'Riley will be sold this summer. No reason we cannot sign Bernardo and look to bring in another player in the 6-8m bracket to take care of that area of the team. We have the money even without the big transfer we will likely get for O'Riley but even more so with the O'Riley money taken into account.

 

Quite surprised with how the poll is going tbh, didn't think 'both' would be the most popular answer never mind by how much it is so. Glad a lot can see the benefits of signing them, they'll both improve us.

The cost doesn't come in to it for me, We've seen what 2/3/4 million gets you these days (obviously there are exceptions). 6/7/8 mil each for these guys is good business imo, so unless their clubs are demanding something stupid like 15-20 million then spend what it takes to get them in.

 

Thinking about it yes especially given you know we will get a big fee for O'Riley on top of the fact we have the money anyway. If we could got both for about 6m each I think that would be well worth it.

 

Aye, Championship player fees can be mental though.. it depends how realistic Norwich are.. not sure I'd pay more than £5m for Idah.

We will already know what Benfica will want for Bernardo.

 

If O’Riley is to leave in the summer, I think that we will need a couple of midfielders in so why not both Bernardo and Gronbaek

 

Think that O'Riley money should be put towards the type of midfielder of whom there is no doubt would be an automatic starter. Someone with all the attributes and plenty experience and character. We ain't getting one of them for 6 mil that's for sure, I want someone who is gonna command more than double that with Bernardo, McGregor, Hatate, Iwata and Kelly being the other options.

 

Aye that's what I mean regarding the Championship fees thing, wouldn't put it past them to try rip the hole out the situation. Which would be a massive shame as Idah has an abundance of talent. 5 mil is on the lower side of what I'd expect though.

 

Still not sure about either. Both have good attributes but are rough diamonds, and the fees quoted are quite steep. Wouldn't be against it, but i do think there's better value out there.

 

When you think we get CCV & Jota for £6m, Idah don't think is that calibre..

 

No but 6 mil for they two was * daylight robbery. Be lucky to find better value than that the rest of our lifetimes.

 

Can't disagree he is not at their level. But nobody in fairness knew Jota in particular would be as good as he turned out to be. It was a risk. Idah has room to improve and we already know he fits in and can make a good contribution so I would be happy to see us sign him long term even for that kind of money.
