Yep, a precedent has already been set.

Said it before, but a significant part of Kazakhstan is geographically in Europe, more than the likes of Turkey. Israel is the anomaly though, that definitely sets precedent

That's the first I've heard of any of Kazakhstan being considered in Europe. Which part exactly, on a map it looks entirely in Asia.[IMG]

By most estimations, Europe ends at the Ural mountains, the Caspian Sea and The Black Sea. Anything west of Ural, which isn't south of the Caspian or Black seas can qualify as Europe. A wee chunk of Kazakhstan falls within that. Its a transcontinental country, like Turkey and Russia. Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan fall right on the border too

Ok but I would argue turkey is more European than Kazakhstan.

I mean the caucuses Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan are west of the ural mountains but east of Turkey.

It's pretty arbitrary tbh, but either way these countries all have some legitimate claim of being European, geographically, whereas Saudi and Israel just isn't.

Yep greed will make it happen. Just utter greed. The world will always operate on who has the most money and the divide is becoming more and more obvious.

If they ever are allowed in surely it'll be to protect the game and impose financial fair play on them? No more £300m a week wages n stuff.

:fear: ofcourse it means more backhanders and no financial fair play

not really, Israel is a UEFA member not an AFC member. If Saudi Arabia isn't a UEFA member they shouldn't get one unless their national team wants to go through the European world cup qualifiers.

Thought about this that instant they started blowing billions.

How does FFP work within that framework? It doesn’t, without the most transparent cheating you will ever see.

Saudi are not part of Uefa

The implications for coefficient points and qualification for other tournaments will be confused… Would they want their national side in the Euros?

The whole thing would have so many complications including other nations and their clubs wanting in… China, Australia? Why not? Then There’s FFP (stop laughing) and the new sustainability rules.

Im sure uefa and fifa will contrive to make sure it can happen though.
