Kyogo Furuhashi

I said in here a few weeks ago that signing Kyogo up to an extension at his age, would be the best thing, keep him here for his prime, other players will come and go during the same time period.

 

This is great news and is great to see that we aren't turning away from the Japanese market now Ange is gone. Ok we might not have shed loads of players and hatate may move on but in kyogo, maeda and iwata we have three players that can make a real impact with us for years to come

Class FairPlay to kyogo aswell, great attitude and hopefully he can continue with the numbers from the last couple of seasons. His goal scoring is vital for us, so clinical

Was pretty telling recently when the new manager was talking him up so much for the new season and about working with him..

Remember posting that it didn't sound like a player the manager thought would be leaving..

No guarantees with contracts but it safeguards us on what we can demand now for our star striker. Personally I think there's no chance he leaves this season now..

 

It depends who is bidding on him. If a top six EPL then Celtic wont have a choice cause he'll want to go and they'll not be able to turn down the mammoth fee we'd get either.

I really hope he doesnt go. I hope he wants another crack at the Champions League...............but we do need to offer him a better contract

 

And he is going to LIGHT Up in Europe, this Season, next Season and the next!!

A positive bit of news for a change. However in reality it doesn't really change much, we could still end up selling him this summer, it's just we'd likely get a bit more for him now.

Hopefully not though and him extending may encourage the other Japanes lads, like Hatate, to stick around a bit longer as well.

It is a relief and a coup, especially after yesterday. It really wouldn't have surprised me if he was for the off this season.

 

There is absolutely no chance we sell him anytime soon after a 4 year deal. If we were planning on selling him this summer or next, he'd have let his contract run down or sign a 1 year deal.

He's here for the long haul, an absolutely fantastic striker who will go up a level under Rodgers.

 

I am happy with this, luv the wee mans attitude....defo keeps him safe for the season ahead - it could be a "Petrov-esq agreement" keeps him for the year, secures his value for the future with the chance that he can go in maybe a years time if a mega bucks deal come in

 

Could turn out a Larsson situation now with him being 28, score 30 and have the League wrapped up by March, wee leg/ankle break over the summer. Back next season score 30+ again and * will think "hes quality but hes 30 now" ends up seeing out his career here scoring over 200 goals

 

The top looks a lot nicer in person.

 

I think wee Kyogo is a bit of a home bird. I really don't see him ever wanting to leave a place where he has really settled and where he is really loved. I think he has found his home from home. I think that despite all his enthusiastic antics he's quite a reserved wee guy and it must have been difficult for him to settle here in a country and culture so vastly different from his own.
