I suppose so if you look at it like that. For me though Rodgers has been here seen it and done it he knew how we operate at boardroom level it was part of the reason he left (no defending it) but I just don't think Rodgers ego lets him walk back in to the Celtic job under the same circumstances he left even on a bigger wage. I get the impression he has been given assurances over budgets and that Lawwell will be sticking his own role and nothing else.

FFS that * definitely had botox :ange2:

  3. But it's the way he done it. Then tried to sabotage us by gutting our backroom staff halfway through the season..

It's done now, he's coming back. Just won't ever be the same, although I hope he's ss successful or even more than his last stint..

I think you’re probably right and, since it looks to be happening, we all just need to get behind it.
I’m just surprised that the board have gone to the lengths they have here for Brendan Rodgers of all people.

I think he will do a good job but my underlying thought with him is he’d go where he was getting the biggest salary. Unless it was going to affect the BR brand. I think our managers should be paid a good salary, football wise, but should be bonus driven. If they are in control of transfer business it’s all down to them.

This is the bit where I hope Lawwell jnr, Nicholson etc are hands on and he has some say on our targets we've been identifying for months.....as opposed to names he's solely bringing to the table..

I'd rather he stuck to what he was good at and that's coaching/making players better..

Every manager has a player or two they know will help gel a team or play the system better. Rodgers last time was sinclair. Outstanding.

    Ange was kyogo/meada.

So I fully expect him to bring 1 or 2 of his own along with a couple of our prior scouted players. His record seems to go downhill for signings season 2 onwards. Ofcourse mbappe will be a free then so no worried when kyogo leaves :fear:

  9. Aye within reason of course..

There's no one that immediately jumps out though this time is there?

If there was someone like a Sinclair for relatively cheap who would hit the ground running, I'm all for it..

I don't want to see him waxing lyrical about guys like Jack Hendry because they shuffled to right back and marked Sinclair out the game at Celtic Park though. We all know how that turned out and there was a few too many dud signings under him..

Our recruitment is in a better place. Let's keep it that way and let him do what he does best....coach..

Am all in with Rodgers coming back but good to have a grounded, reasonable reminder of some of the * that happened last time. Cheers M.

It's all about the football for me. Don't care much about how he left previously.

If he gets us playing some of the football he had us playing in his first season followed by an excellent consistency in results and a good return in recruitment then I will get back on board with him. Titles and cups will naturally follow that.

But if its his 2nd season stuff, dropping silly points and poor recruitment that won't progress us then we simply won't win the league and tbh that time and money would have been better invested in someone else.

And those aren’t even the real reasons he upped sticks, him and Lawwell don’t like each other and Lawwell was waging a Cold War against him. In fact it’s even still going to this day, if Lawwell had his way we wouldn’t even be talking to Rodgers.

    This is all DD’s doing.
