Smacks of people just not liking Taylor for whatever reason.. Bernabei is pish and constantly pished by all accounts and should be punted ASAP. Taylor was one of our best players and most improved under Ange.. but yeah Bernabei over Taylor.. Christ..

Tierney I'd say Rodgers by the end damaged more than developed, but the rest make sense. Funnily enough I always associate most of those players with Deila.

Or was it Lennon that played him injured at the end?? Had it in my head Rodgers did it too but might be wrong.

Rodgers team the last time initially played a higher press and then he changed it to the possession based style because of the number of games we were playing it was roughly around 60+ a season(I’m sure he spoke about this at one point). Now with us already being in the champions league and having 5 subs a game I can see him sticking to a higher intensity

I love Taylor - only need to look at his thread to see that. But the question was about how the current squad will adapt to Rodgers style and the point stands that Taylor is not the kind of full back Rodgers likes. Bernie on the other hand is more in that mould. He won't take the ball in those central areas and can focus on what he's good at - getting forward down the line and whipping balls in. Don't be surprised to see him go up a few levels under Rodgers.

Aye that's true, a change in shape might not be the worst thing against the huns.

Haksabanovic and matt will thrive under him in that no10 role

Haksabanovic is an interesting one. Unfortunately I do think Matt will be off though I also stuck him in the 10 in my predicted XI, as I think he'd be brilliant there under Rodgers.

To be honest I'm excited now to see how the squad shapes up under him. Still have huge doubts and my feelings about him as a man haven't changed, but it'll be really interesting to see how we change and develop under him. Like others have said, Rodgers' best attribute is how he improves individual players, and we'll no doubt see a few really go up some levels next season.

We have really good depth now, Hatate and Mooy can also play either as a 8 or a 10. Think Haksa would be excellent on the left of a 3 in a 4231, so I could see him going up a level, albeit still having to play 2nd fiddle to Jota.

I can see why people would say Taylor might struggle, he’s the only one who doesn’t suit a Rodgers style fullback, which is why he was unbelievably successful under Ange.

I agree about your point regarding the number of games, definitely can see that improving our overall style of play under Rodgers, especially with the board willing to back him. 3 or 4 top players in the summer and then we have the makings of a proper competitive champions league squad.

What I do expect is a few first team players to move on there is interest in

    Abada
    O'Reily
    Starfelt
    Hatate
    Kyogo
    Turnbull
    Welsh
    Jota

Now you wouldn't want to lose all that from your first team pool but the ones with most concrete interest are and bids expected

Abada - Dutch, epl and spanish
Kyogo - epl, Italian and german
    Starfelt - epl and french
    Hatate - epl and German
    Welsh - French and Portuguese

Celtic won't sell 4 players, not after the promise of massive investment to Rodgers. He'll have final say this summer.

There is no question Rodgers is a fantastic coach. I could see Matt O'Riley if he stays really moving to the next level, Bernabei would suit being a traditional overlapping full back, Haksabanovic has something about him, James Forrest might make a return, Turnbull could be someone who could very much improve, Siegrist could well be seen as someone to really push Joe Hart. Abada has more in him. There are a few who could push on I think.

Taylor will be fine. I don't rate Bernie what so ever but a manager change might up his game but it needs upped significantly..

Maybe Kyogo in the 10 to make way for a big striker which we know he likes. For now though it’s this.

    Hart
    Johnston, CCV, Starfelt, Taylor
    Reo, Cal Mac
    Abada, O’Riley, Jota
    Kyogo

Rodgers seems quite adaptable and he'll be well aware of Taylor's performance over the past couple seasons, as well as Bernabei's struggles. I can't see him just binning Taylor, although it could be a position he looks to upgrade or bring in better competition for (which is what we should be doing for a number of positions anyhow)

Think he’ll aim for his usual 4-3-3, but with the squad he’ll immediately inherit, I’d think he’d initially go 4-2-3-1, knowing him.

Compared to Ange, he’s slightly less ‘gegenpressing’ and more Tiki-Taka, but tends to like at least one of his full-backs to get forward and overlap, rather than inverting as Ange insists both his full-backs do.
Rodgers also likes an emphasis as much on athleticism as technique in the middle, so given that we’re a bit short on that, I can see a central-midfield two, with a 10 deployed further up the pitch.
He also likes his wingers to cut inside, so eventually I think we’ll see a left-footer or two come in to compete for the RW slot.

    Hart
    Johnston CCV Starfelt Bernabei
    Hatate McGregor
    Abada O’Riley Jota
    Kyogo

Think he’ll fancy Taylor in general, but he loves a wing-back type, and Taylor isn’t really that, so that’s why I think he’d try Bernabei (or more likely bring someone in). Could see Kyogo behind Oh, or alongside him, as I think Rodgers will like Oh’s presence and link-up.

Not necessary, he used a number of formations at Leicester. He used 4231, 433, 343 on various occasions
