  1. I'm aware. And?

  2. I don't think people worry so much about how well they will do in a top job. They worry more about getting the chance, of a top job.

Ange and Rodgers and MoN before that have shown that coming to us isn't a career killer.

  3. * it. I’m all for it now. Bring him home.

  4. If it's between him and Maresca, Rodgers is a must. Would rather that Iraola, based on nothing but having read a bit about him. Knutsen, is he a one man club that would flop elsewhere ? Who knows. That's the biggest fear with him.

Maybe Maresca is coming to work under Rodgers ? I know he gets called an assistant manager at MC but did someone not say they have about 8 of them. Maybe working solely under BR would be a good thing for him as well.

The Phoenix and Samsquanch like this.
  5. There seems to be a feeling amongst a lot of fans that Rodgers is going to be a guaranteed success. I dont share that belief. His stock is low right now and history has shown him to be suspect in the transfer market.

Im disappointed at the way in which a lot of the fans have lowered their values to allow him an exemption.

For me we should be going with an up and coming manager who would be hungry to make his mark.

Brendan showed his true colours. At this moment in time he needs Celtic. But he didnt show much thought for Celtic when the riches of England came calling.

Regardless of how he is rated as a coach, it shouldnt be allowed.

  6. He's undoubtedly a great manager and coach he 100% makes players better as we seen when he pretty much won everything in his time here with mostly Ronny's team but my main concern is his record on transfers not even just at Celtic but across his whole career hopefully Mark Lawwell has more of a say on that front and not bringing Congerton in as well will be a bonus

  7. Celtic most definitely is home for him

  8. This is one of the biggest concerns. I can see things turning sour quite quickly if he hits any sort of bad form and before you know it the relative harmony within the club atm disappears and things spiral downwards. He'll also be conscious of the situation from the get go which could affect his overall decision making etc.

    Callum McGregor likes this.
  9. He knows the city as well

  10. Not pushed on the * tbh, but surely he’ll be able for whatever The Mole throws at him.

I have more faith in lawwell jnr and Nicholson with brendan than I did with lawwell snr and congerton when it comes to player transfers

  11. Apparently he is meeting with Leeds new owners in London tomorrow according to some Leeds ITK on twitter

  12. He did make some poor signings in the transfer market. But he also has made some pretty good ones. Sinclair, Edouard, Greg Taylor. He also made Calmun McGregor the player he is today. Im up for this 100%

  13. I appreciate what you are saying Minty, but this would be the same if we get Pep :giggle1:

  14. Get Broony in as number 2 incase this * does a runner on us again...So we aint left in the *

  15. Link us up please

  16. His initial signings were good but a few really poor ones.
Not sure I agree with you on McGregor. He has already shown a lot of potential when out on loan. He might have helped him bring his game on but i dont think you can attribute McGregors success solely to Rodgers.

  17. No I wasnt meaning McGregor's success was totally down to Rodgers. But CalMac still speaks very highly of him and you can see the vast difference in McGregor as a player in the period before and after Rodgers was here

  18. The last bit is it for me, he stopped getting the backing, had some public comments against the board in a snipey snide way and then his heart wasn’t in it.

The most important for thing for me right now though is, who is the most likely manager available for us that could take this team, have a smooth transition, uphold the standards set and have what it takes to uphold the winning mentality.

And as much as I’ve said against Rodgers and have a bit of a grudge against him for certain things, it’s him that is the obvious answer to that.
