I don't know why but I feel he isn't the right fit for Celtic. I'm not saying he isn't a player but perhaps our style of play is all wrong for him. He makes it in the looks department though but there's been a few like that :56:

And if we want to progress in europe, which surely now has to be the next step for this team then players having slumps and periods of bad decisions and low confidence arnt going to get us there. Particularly ones who are as incredibly immobile as he is

He is in decline, does not look fit, looked like he was blowing out his * after 30min.
    Just offering nothing right now.
Mooy streets ahead of him, and right now, would prefer to see Hack or Turnbull start ahead of him.
Just seems to me that his decline started after he returned from playing the Cal role that time Cal was out injured????

Something you know or just an opinion?

I do think some of the speculation around him in the summer and early part of this season has got to him.

He was very poor yesterday and hasn’t been at his best since the World Cup break but before that I thought largely he was fine and you have to remember he was playing that deeper role for half the games.

I am not sure if this pushing him up like a second centre forward out of possession really suits him, I always feel he was at his best picking up pockets of space in the right half space where he can thread balls through or have quick link up with the winger and full back.

Examples of this include, Hatate’s 2nd be them in the February 3-0 game, Jota’s goal in the 4-0, the Hearts 4-1 game at the end of last season and the St Johnstone 7-0 were absolute standout performances for me. He is like Mooy and Turnbull for me in that he performs better with an energetic partner as the other 8 like Hatate.

I think we need someone more box to box like Hatate as an option when he’s not available rather than the three of Turnbull, O’Riley and Mooy.

He’s 22. He still has massive scope for development, not to mention the fact players can have off seasons or periods of poor form for all sorts of reasons. I’d say the best thing that can happen for him now from a personal point of view is the season ending so he can recharge physically and mentally and focus on getting back to his best next season.

He has shown glimpses of being a top midfielder, we would be totally daft to not persevere with him for another season or two.

Maybe not, Abada would be doing a lot of heavy lifting tbf but I do think it would be reasonable to obtain £25million for the three of them which if Ange and team continues to source solid signings... we'd be in a very healthy position to replace those names

We are never going to be able to get a team full of players that are immune to a wee patch of poor form.

Particularly if we want to get talented youngsters in to develop, that’s what comes with that space.

For those who are in love.....
I've mentioned this a couple of times now as well..

I definitely think it's due to previous interest from EPL clubs that he actually named publicly. You could see him lashing out at the likes of Maeda yesterday when he was having a Chernobyl. Not on for me..

Needs to get a grip. I suspect he'll be hoping there's still interest from those same clubs and be on to his agent about trying to get out in the summer..

Looks to me a player going through the motions similar to Eduard before he left and agree think he will be away in the summer.

Sorry mate, just opinion, didn't mean to try and sound ITK. I'm just very confident he'll be gone. Like you say, I think the speculation has got to him a bit and I suspect the plan for him was always to leave this summer. Now I don't think he'll get the move he was expecting (Newcastle or the like), but I don't see him sticking around either. For us too, this is the time to cash in I feel. Just makes sense all round.

He's hardly been *, aye he's not been as good as he looked when he first hit it off last season. He's played a different role for half of this season and did well in that deeper role, he still producing good numbers and is entitled to have a bad game every now and then. You don't need to be so quick to go he's * and can * off. He's an important player in our squad.

I do agree he should have been subbed a bit earlier in the game against County yesterday but so could half of the squad.

I do think you are right. He has been a passenger this year. Looks like his head has been turned.
Sad, because I thought we had a really good midfielder on our hands initially.

Huge game for him if selected.

He’s been * for ages, but some of his best games for us have been against them at Celtic Park.

Form has suffered recently, I think goals have given him his confidence and this season they ain't hitting the spot his inexperience is allowing his frustration to mess with his head and game .
