Midfielders Aaron Mooy and Tomoki Iwata have been ruled out of Celtic's clash with Hibs on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou's side welcome the Hibees to Celtic Park hoping to take another step towards the Scottish Premiership title. They sit nine points clear of Rangers and know a Treble is on the cards after eliminating Hearts from the Scottish Cup last weekend to set up a semi-final date with their rivals. It's back to league action this weekend and Celtic face Hibs at 3pm, with Gers in action in Saturday's early kick-off.

They will have to see out their clash with Hibs though without key midfielder Mooy who has been ruled out with an injury. Ange Postecoglou confirmed both he and Tomoki Iwata are out,

No so good on the injury front just now, I blame the long rests from not playing twice a week

No good news regarding Iwata and Mooy, suppose its good they've got a couple of weeks to rest and heal, need them both for the Derby game.

He will. Ange said he could have played today. It'll will probably aggravate his injury playing for Australia though which is why I said it was annoying

It's the same with everyone in the squad we don't want them injured on international duty

Bit of a difference between WC and a couple of friendlies on the other side of the world when we've the most important part of our season coming up, not mention he's nursing an injury.

What in the kangaroo are you slabbering about?

99% on here are probably club over international and would want most of our players fit over going away on national duty....particularly players who are carrying knocks and in their 30's..

Pulled out of the Aussie squad. Apparently told them he would only be able to play limited minutes. So he will get a rest

Us Aussies are used to that from the days of Harry Kewell's groin flaring up just before an international call.

Midfielder Aaron Mooy will miss the Subway Socceroos' “Welcome Home” matches against Ecuador due to injury.
The 32-year-old was ruled out of Celtic FC’s fixture over the weekend with back soreness, and upon consultation with the senior national team’s medical staff, the decision was made for Mooy to continue his recovery in Scotland.

Coming into the 26-man squad is defender Ryan Strain, who also plays in the Scottish Premier League for St Mirren FC.

Upon confirming this change, Subway Socceroos’ Head Coach Graham Arnold said: “It’s unfortunate for Aaron that he misses these games, something I know he was very much looking forward to playing, but his absence provides an opportunity to a further emerging player as we start this new campaign.

“After speaking with Aaron, who missed this weekend’s game, he would only be able to play limited minutes if he came to Australia, so the decision was made for him to stay in Scotland and continue his recovery,” explained Arnold.

Mooy’s withdrawal has presented an opportunity for Ryan Strain, who made his debut for the Subway Socceroos against the New Zealand All-Whites at Eden Park, Auckland on 25 September 2022.

How about if Aussies want to see Mooy play in Australia.
You people have had players "pulling up sore " for years to avoid it
