    Unpopular opinion, i dont like the Barrowlands for gigs - the smell gives me the bolk when you walk in.

    Prefer the Academy by a distance.

    I've been to some gigs at the Academy and the sound has been dreadful. Always think bands sound much better in the Barras.

    The Academy is great solely as a venue, but the sound leaves a lot to be desired.

    I seen Ocean Colour Scene 5 nights in a row back in the 90s at the Barras. Apparently they liked the Barrowlands as much as we do. Could have done one, maybe two nights at the SECC but no, 5 in a row at the Barrowlands. Not one day was the weekend either. Monday to Friday. :giggle1:

    SECC is a shed though, awful acoustics.
