I am feeling that mcgeady is looking more and more like a player with potential but is becoming lazy as he knows he is guaranteed a starting position every week. Am i paranoid on this one?

Think it,s more a case of team,s knowing that he,s going to get given the ball on almost every one of our attacks

Need the likes of Brown to do alot more and give us more options when attacking rather than give the ball to McGeady & he has 2 or 3 defenders round him

Every team is aware of what a danger McGeady is and they try to cancel him out of the game. This is why I think think it's extra important that Nakamura starts to deliver on a more regular basis - he was our best player today, I think, so at least that's a start.

tbh hes been shoite all pre-season and the 1st. 2 games, despite his awards aiden has a lot to do to become a proper world class player, his end product and the basics like passing need work to back up his skills hopefully hes having a blip cause he needs to pick it up this year for both ireland and celtic and influence games in the way his talent can..

in fairness i think strachans tactics are too predictable and nulify the potential aiden has

I dont think hes playing lazily, just not quite well enough.

He's still running his socks off but he aint really gettin anywhere with itwhich is worrying.

Also, having hope to see his shooting improve for the new season, hes had a couple of howlers shotwise.

no matter who we bring in, wgs has to start playing our form players in their best positions, stop giving a game to players who don't * merit it(skippy shouldn't have been in Dundee today far less on that feckin pitch!), and start making tactical changes and substitutions when they're needed - not as a last desperate throw of the dice.

Its the simple, logical things like why the * didn't he just switch McGeady to the right and play Robson on the left when the latter replaced Naka?
It would have asked far more questions of Utd by allowing both players to whip first time crosses in from their best foot without constantly slowing our attacking moves down with the pair of them always having to cut inside.
And apart from anything else, Aiden wasn't getting much joy down the left in any case!

He seems to have lost a bit of pace to me, thats a big part of his game.

what ever the issue is, i hope he moves on swiftly and returns to his decent form

saying that having to do the job of the left back as well as be a winger doesnt help him

*! How did you work this one out Sherlock?

He had a bad game, like most of the team. It just looks worse for him because expectations of him are higher.

Aiden didnt have a great game but he wasnt the only one! Dont think hes being lazy, the work rate is still there but he will be fine this season. One bad game doesnt make him * overnight!

I think he's regressed a little with the no-passing-let's-run-straight-into-a-sea-of-defenders bit. I think there was 3 or 4 times Wilson came up to help him out and... nope... he wanted to go it alone... and the result was the same every time. That shot was also miserable.
But his energy levels are great so I don't think it has to do with complacency.

    agree completely, thats his problem.

there is no competition for him at all, he needs dropped imo, then we'll see the ability come back.

he didn't have a good game but you could never accuse him of being lazy. although he is a guaranteed starter every week i think he's a very focused young man who wants to better himself all the time, he just getting doubled up on every time he gets the ball
