We are a really really good team! We didn't play with that attitude or ability when we beat Barcelona!

We didn't take the chances we need to take but they will beat more fancied teams than us more easily.

    Love this team man!!

No shame tonight, we gave a good account of ourselves. If Calmac had hit the post or took our chances first half who knows how it would have went. Second half totally belonged to Real, it's as if they realised we were a push over and raised their game. Most pleasing was how Ange stuck to.the way we play as he said we would. If that was the Huns playing Real you would bet your house on they would have sat in and defended deep and still got hammered. We played the best Club team in the World tonight full of world class players, we are a young team and and would have learned * of a lot playing in that.

Proud of the team first and foremost, the best part of an hour tonight they went toe to toe and should have been in front.

To get a result tonight we needed to be perfect and get a bit of luck. We missed 3 great chances and hit the post before they scored. When Maeda fluffed the one at the start of second half I just had a feeling it wasn’t going to be our night.

The first two goals we lost are really poor and that is where I think we need to improve if we are to make inroads in this group. Based on the Shakhtar result we are in for a tough game next week too.

At this level you need to take your chances and not give anything away cheap. We just didn’t quite get there tonight in the end.

The crowd applauding doesn't refute my point..

    But anyway, we move on.

As promising that was we seriously need to start being more clinical in these games. We probably had more decent chances to score than they did tonight yet have been beat 3-0.

We’ll never miss 3 or 4 great chances to score against Real Madrid and beat them unfortunately.

Aye but when have you seen us actually go out and take the game to them. Some of that attacking in the first hour you would have thought we where the galacticos. So proud of that.

The class of the reigning CL winners shone through in the end, but I'm proud of each and everyone of our players and our manager.

Could had been a different story had we taken any of those 3-4really good chances. Probably Maeda was guilty of the worse misses as his two chances early in the second half he should have scored at least one.
Scoreline flatters Real Madrid but to be fair they are class.

But just before the goal, we started to make a lot of loose passes and looked like we ran out of puff. Thought Ange shought have made a change then. Possibly Mooy for O’Reilly who probably has been pretty poor today. Could have made a change to stop the Real Madrid momemtum.

Absolutely fantastic !!!! So so proud of this team
We have to remember this is the start for so many of this team at this level. The fitness is fantastic but it will take a while for the mental stamina to be there over 90 minutes at this level
Games like this will raise our game dramatically.

Fantastic performance and the gulf in class eventually told. We went toe to toe for 55 minutes against the best. We will come back stronger from that.

The game could have been so different but for our finishing. Cal and Maeda had chances that they should have buried. Real were much more clinical.

Bit similar to the home Leverkusen game last season. Unflattering scoreline, but we had our moments and missed some good chances.

That first half we were really good, but Madrid's quality and ability to hurt us when we tired was very apparent. Good effort and a great learning experience for the players and manager.

I'm still smiling from ear to ear. It wasn't to be. But we gave a great account of ourselves. We're back where we belong. For 50mins, we were more than competent against the best club side in the world.

Couple of goals were disappointing to concede, but I'm not singling anyone out. We've made great strides in a short time, we will make further strides in the coming months. We're playing pure beautiful football. We're scoring goals. Like I said. I'm happy where we are, and what we're doing. Let's kick on and look forward to the next one.

Calmac was absolutely class. Wouldn't be outta place in a Madrid side.

Fans were class again. Proud to hear them singing Ange's song at the end. He's a class act and deserves it.

Heads up troops. We're the good guys on the right path.

    Hail hail...:shamrock:

Wonder what Leipzig forums are like the night. That's a wild result. If we can put in the kind of shift we did from the go tonight we should be confident going into games against them and Shakthar. They won't be easy games but we've shown enough to give me a lot of hope.

Proud of that performance tonight, especially first half. Don’t take your chances at this level and your punished though. A lot of positives to take from that. Rather get beat playing attacking football than sitting back for 90 mins.
