sorry mods if this is in the wrong place.

it has been reported that the board has revised our budget at the start of the window due to lack of Rangers spending (even though they have spent quite a bit considering they've sold very little, untill today, and when compared to us).

do you think now that Murray has promised all the funds from Cuellar's transfer to boost their budget that our board will revise our own budget again?

and do you think that we will sign a £3m-£5m player before the window shuts?

for me, i can't see our board not spending now if Rangers start to push the boat out.

Our budget isn't dictated by rangers as the entire internet appears to believe, the reason we haven't spent a few quid is nothing to do with them or the Kaunus result.

I'd like to think that the people running Celtic are a bit more professional than that, Hammy89.

That's an interesting point. I hadn't heard about it before now. Our budget shouldn't really be dictated by that lot's spending. Our focus should be on how we can progress in Europe and what players we need to do it. I like the way Lawell and co. operate, to a point. It's when they think that just enough is acceptable that they need a kick in the *.

i would too. infact i did. but we were linked with top class players in the opening period of the window. i mean the likes of Rat, Pavlyuchenko etc. i know that they may be well out of our reach and we may never of been interested in any of them. but we were being linked with them. now its players like Robinson from WBA.

i think our board expected Rangers to heavily buy this summer then when they didn't they revised and downscaled their targets. i feel they only want to do just enough to win the league without going over the top and destroying those in Mordor.

even if we were being professional and basing our budget on improvement in the CL, around £2.5m expenditure on three players (unless they are all from the same barrel as Boruc and Skippy were) is hardly going to do it imo. but there is plenty of time in this window for our board to spend good and wisely. so please do it board.

I honestly think Celtic are playing a poker game here. The bigger deals generally involve a bit of bluffing and waiting.I think we'll make a big effort for a quality player or two before the close of the window.Remember JVoH and Gravesen were both signed in August.

Yeah I think theres a good degree of bluffery by Lawwell and co. I think towards the very end of the window we'll see much more action..

    Kyogo. A phenomenon
Huns have to push the boat out to even BEGIN to compensate for Cuellar anyway...meaning they will probably buy 2 players (at least) with the money, and then end up spending vastly more on wages for these guys than they were for Carlos C. Long-term, they are big time losers in this deal.
Overall i'm not too worried. Smith said he'd reinvest the money in the team, and he's * welcome to it.
We'll spend another 3/4 million i reckon, but leave some of the warchest intact for January

P.S - the pic is excellent.
