    Bayern candidate from the Bundesliga!

When FC Bayern host Bayer Leverkusen for the Bundesliga cracker on Saturday, the record champions' squad planners should take a closer look at one Werkself player: Jeremie Frimpong.

Will he soon close a long-standing squad construction site at Bayern?

According to SPORT1 information, Jeremie Frimpong from league rival Bayer Leverkusen has aroused Munich's interest! (DATA: The table of the Bundesliga)

The 21-year-old Dutchman, as an offensive right-back with potential as a rail player, fits in perfectly with FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann, who would like an alternative to Benjamin Pavard, who is more likely to be a central defender in the future, for the coming season.

Frimpong, who trained at Manchester City, switched from Celtic Glasgow to Leverkusen in January 2021 for around eleven million euros. It didn't take him long to develop into a reliable regular.

His offensive drive can be seen from his statistics this season alone: After 31 appearances, Frimpong has had ten goals (two goals, eight assists)!

Frimpong fee as a hurdle for Bayern?
A Leverkusen shooting star for Bayern? The topic is not really hot yet. Munich are still in the role of observer and have several candidates in mind - including Ridle Baku (23 / VfL Wolfsburg) and Sergiño Dest (21 / FC Barcelona).

So far, no talks have been held with Leverkusen or the Frimpong side. But if Bayern get serious, Frimpong would be anything but averse to moving to the Isar. In this case, however, the fee should be an unpleasant hurdle for the 2020 Champions League winner.

According to SPORT1 information, Frimpong would cost at least 30 million euros. A sum that seems difficult for FCB in Corona times - especially in view of the possible contract extensions of the "three musketeers" Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller and Robert Lewandowski as well as other potential transfers in defense and in midfield.

Since Frimpong's contract in Leverkusen runs until 2025, the club is not necessarily dependent on a timely sale and the player himself, given a possible qualification for the Champions League, does not necessarily see the need to take the next step in his development this year do, those responsible for Simon Rolfes, currently in third place, can lean back and relax.

Competition for Bayern from England and Spain
Another disadvantage for Bayern: Frimpong has long aroused the interest of other top clubs. According to SPORT1 information, Borussia Dortmund from Germany is still dealing with the native of Amsterdam. But even heavyweights from England and Spain have now targeted him.

It was only recently that the Frimpong side was approached that FC Barcelona was ready to try to get him in the summer if Dest, who hadn't really hit the ground running until then, found a new employer.

Many rumors about the high-flyer from Leverkusen. But he himself doesn't want to know anything about it, but wants to play himself into the focus of the Dutch senior national team with further good performances.

Frimpong could soon compete there with Denzel Dumfries (26/Inter Milan). A player who was briefly on Bayern's list last summer - but with a price tag of almost 14 million euros was ultimately too expensive...

You would imagine we do have at least 10-15% similar to the Tierney to Arsenal deal.

It may be bigger given Man City had a big one in our deal to buy him.

Not surprised at all, he was such a good player from a young age. His main issue in the second season with us is he had no winger to partner with as our only wingers were Jamesy, Mikey and Moi and 2 of them were mostly injured.

He's done well Was always good going forward but for me was suspect defensively. I take it he's more of a RWB for them than a standard RB.

Was always a talent...just became too much of an outball alone down the right for us so it stagnated.

Hopefully het gets a move to someone willing to spend silly money...,Newcastle for £150mill would be fantastic :56:

It's a shame we weren't able to realise that potential at our club. He looked one-dimensional and lost in his last season for us. It makes you wonder about our coaching and what was going on in training back then.

It’s transfers like his that makes you realise how clueless a lot of our support are. Or perhaps just bitter that he moved on.

He will go to the very top of the game. Bayern Munich or Real Madrid level.

He's going to the top...I dunno if he reaches that high....* some achievement if he does granted.

But I've always like the lad...when he first came in he was blisteringly fast, deceptively strong and aggressive on the ball...but as time went on it seemed like he lost his passion so he's edge faded when lennon was at the helm.

    * *...even Laxalt looked a player until he spent a month training with us under Lennon regime.

Yep. His talent was blindingly obvious, just too many folk spitting the dummy out because he dared to move to a better league and team.

    Cracking full back.

Some account put up some his highlights from this season earlier.

    He’s frightening man.

Shame we didn’t get to see him under a real manager.

Watching his highlights - forgot how class he was, and much better now. Rapid, and always banks on himself. Reckon we got about as much as we ever would've gotten for him, but would have loved to have seen him in the CL under Ange.

No chance. If he was came in under Rodgers he’d have went for far more.

Not even taking into account he counts as a homegrown player for English clubs if they came in.
