  3. even one deal done in a reasonable timeframe would be unlike Celtic, buzzing with the way his got our house in order since coming in.

  6. He looks brilliant at picking out the free player, wherever they are, not just knocking in hopeful balls. Keeps the defence guessing and as a result it opens them up further.

  7. Ffs how do we expect to compete in the CL signing guys for a few quid from some midtable Swedish side?

  8. His style of crossing is very interesting indeed.

Got s lot of power in his left foot, happy to ping the balls in to dangerous areas and busy areas. Late runners will love it.
    Defences will hate it.

Too often we wait to get to the by line and cross in front of the play, leaving it an easy grab for keepers or head clear.

His crossing is gonna be hit and miss at times, packed defense with him pinging the ball in like that, could see a few being knocked away, but with the amount of bodies we will have running forward to support, just as likely O'Reily, Kyogo, Giakoumakis, Abada, rogic etc get on the end of one of those, and most those guys can happily match the pace of that ball.

We are defo going further down the more direct, determined, paced approach to just bombard teams.
    Love it.

  9. Definitely fits the Angeball mantra of crossing it low and early. Even when he did go to the byline, he didn’t just cross for crossing sakes, he picked out a player in space, even if it was cutback to the 18 yard line.

  10. Yeah seen that as well, he seems much more interested in getting the ball in the mix, rather than the floaty over the top crosses that tempt a keeper to collect.

  11. Kyogo and Abada will be having wet dreams with this lads crossing. I hope that he and Jota can strike up a good partnership on the left.

  14. Interesting as well that we seem to be breaking away from older model and we are now signing more players around 25+ ages.

Looks like this could be a good bit of business.

  15. I wonder then, if teams wise up to him they maybe come out more to just stop the delivery outright rather than chance the ball being allowed into their box when guys like Giakoumakis will bully defenders or with the movement of guys like Kyogo Abada floating around.

He could maybe help open up games and get our forward players a few extra yards of space to play with.

  16. Yeah win win for us surely of they do that. Opens the space up for guys like Jota and Kyogo to run in to all day long.

It's going to force teams to do something, either allow it to happen, or come out and stop it.

Which brings us back to the old Rodgers way, where he was happy to have possession for possession for the sake of it, thinking the goal will come. But teams just sit deep and hold out.

This way, Ange is proving we still have the possession, but is actively trying to force the goals in. So either come out and play, or we will just smash balls in.

  17. A like the cut of his jib!

    Agreed.

Again I said it in the Ange thread but it's things like this that give me a real buzz around how Ange goes about things.

I could 100% just be taken by pure blind faith and love for the sexy * and can't see anything else, but with this type of signing you can see he's trying to keep things fresh and direct and add different aspect to our game to help keep our attackers stay in amongst goals and causing havoc. With signing these types of players that could possibly force opposition to come out and actually play the game.

  18. That's probably because modern players can now perform without issues until their mid 30-40's, and really good ones will be gone on to richer climes by time they're about 28 anyway

We still have a very young squad though... Only 5 over 30, and 2 or 3 near it... And a couple of those are keepers, so not really an issue.

  19. This is true.

Ignoring Hart, McGregor has got to be our oldest regular starting 11 player and he's turning 29 in June.

Even he's probably got another 8 years in him yet. Four of those probably even reaching higher levels then he's at currently if Ange stays here.
