We're giving them back what they paid us.. hardly deal of the century. they recoup their money we get a money grabbing player back. I'd offer him £10k a week with £8k appearance bonus, see what he says.

Shaun Maloney makes Celtic return | Football | guardian.co.uk

Shaun Maloney will be paraded as a Celtic player tomorrow after agreeing terms on his return to Parkhead on a four-year deal from Aston Villa.
The Scotland international, who will cost £1m and earn £20,000 a week, moved to the Midlands from Celtic in January 2007 but failed to settle and has harboured aspirations of a return to Glasgow for a number of months. Rangers had earlier expressed an interest in Maloney, but he made it clear he was unwilling to join Walter Smith's side while Sunderland were also unable to coax Maloney to remain in England. The striker, who can also operate on the left side of midfield, has lost his place in George Burley's Scotland squad after falling out of first-team matters under Martin O'Neill at Villa Park.
Maloney, whose move was sealed after talks with the Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell in Glasgow today, becomes Gordon Strachan's fourth acquisition of the summer after the arrivals of Paddy McCourt, Marc Crosas and Glenn Loovens.
Evander Sno has been allowed to leave the club, though, with the Dutchman today securing a surprise move to Ajax.
Sno, a former product of the Ajax youth system, joined Celtic from Feyenoord two years ago. He will now renew an acquaintance with Marco van Basten, the Ajax manager who selected Sno during his tenure with the Dutch national team.

    No not really.

Donatti for Maloney, aye...not Sno, someone young with potential. I'd rather let Donatti go than Sno.

We know what we're getting with Maloney, and there will be the added pressure that we now expect big things from him. Before he left, when he produced a bit of magic, it was, well, magic. Something nobody expected from the wee man, now he's on his way back there is going to be the added pressure on his shoulders.

I look at it as, we've basically loaned him to Villa for a year or so and got him back, money hasn't really changed hands. We've made money from the Sno deal, that's the only good thing about the Sno deal.
