For mine, I don't want him back - but it has nothing to do with his original departure. Bearing a grudge is pointless - football is a business (more so for some players).... But would you knock back Kaka or deco if they were in our budget?

If MON did anything at Celtic, it was taking players with attitude or commitment problems - and turned them into consistent performers....sutton, thommo and big john just a few.

Which poses the question - what went wrong with maloney and villa? I think the lad has some major issues and I'm not certain we should be acting as footballs equivelant to the psychiatrists couch.

 

Does he deserve a 2nd chance? Well, he hasn't really done anything to redeem himself, so no.

But I'm not fussed if he shows up, and I wouldn't deny we could use some quality injection. Just hope if he does come back Lawwell is given free reign to write his contract so we don't get bit twice.

fans are constantly moaning about quality signings and lack of talent, and "not Celtic class"......well we know Maloney is "Celtic class" and has talent and would be a quality signing.....so where's the problem?

 

But that won't happen. It will be a 4-4-2, wether thats the best or not.

 

WGS has already stated he has a way of playing, its just finding the players to suit. There won't be any 4-3-3. Brown has had to change from his style at Hibs where he often was part of a midfield of 3, WGS believes this to be part of the reason for his poor form!

You should never change a format to accomodate a player.... ala Graveson!

I was asked what I would do not what WGS would do.

IMO he is still too find the correct players to suit his prefered 4-4-2.

IMO most of our players , including the now departed Tommy G are not suited to 4-4-2. Hence the reason for my choice of 4-3-3

I think we need to get in there now and sign him. If we leave it late we are going to lose him to another EPL team.

If we are trying to lower the price by waiting til the last day it wont work with MON

 

giving a 2nd chance sounds harsh imo. It's not like he was a mate or partner and did something wrong and now he asks for a 2nd chance.

he's a footballer and he doesn't give a toss what we think, he only wants to get some cash, so if we give "him a 2nd chance" it doesn't change anything. the bosses decide if celtic sign him, not the supporters.
I also think celtic gave him plenty of chances when he was here, especially during his injuries.



I think the correct question should be: Should he be signed again (a 2nd time)?

 

Do you not think we would be over run in midfield? Often teams both at home in Scotland and abroad will play 4-5-1, this would enable them to boss us out the game.

Rangers' 4-5-1 that they used in europe for example would choke out our midfield and prevent them from creating.

 

Said yes but tbh a would prefer a better quality player, but a wont be complaining if he does sign.

 

Some people dont like a lack of commitment and passion for the club, dont forget we gave malaoney a chance and made him the player he is today, when the first club from the premiership came in forhim he was off in a matter of seconds, complete * if you ask me
