Usually in a football context ‘year’ would’ve referred to this season but ok. Still don’t think he’s done though.

Regardless, scoring a tap in against an awful St Johnstone side is hardly evidence that he's been remotely good enough this season.

He's contributed 1 goal and 0 assists since August. It's dreadful.

It's sort of mental how the opinions have suddenly changed after, what, 20 minutes of good football from him in 2022?

I love the guy, and maybe he does still have a part to play, but no chance would I be dropping Abada for him anytime soon.

He’s been poor this season but he was definitely better the other night than he has been, so let’s take that as a positive.

I actually thought he was good when he came on against Bodo in the home game too.

Would be perfect if he could hit a little purple patch between now and the end of the season.

I think we are all dying to see the James Forrest that nicks winners and marauds * outta opponents on the wing. Cutting inside to see that pass. That’s the Forrest that will click again.

He's nearly 2 years since his best form and feels a bit detached from the ange era but hopefully can get back to some sort of form.

It’s evidence he hasn’t done “* all” as you claimed. Still scored when no one else did in an important game. No one is pretending he’s been great. Calls for him to retire were ridiculous though.

Think fans would learn, coming off a bad injury last season Tam Rogic was ‘completely finished’ this season he’s been one of our best players.

It took him a season to get back. Fans want players to be shown a lot of loyalty, but don’t want to return the favour. And James Forrest has shown that time and time again for us.

Against St Mirren was the first time he's performed to a decent level in a while, hopefully he can kick on. Can be excellent on his day, but can be frustrating. Can sometimes work it into good positions, then his shots are often powder puff. I've still got a lot of time for him though, can still be a big player for us. Injuries have been very unhelpful to the boy.

Forrest is a weird player physically, we saw the same before a few years ago when he came back from a long injury - he looked completely wooden like he'd never seen a football in his life - then as he played more all that weird stiffness in how he moved went away - and his form came back. Think it's possible the same will happen and would be persevering with him. Ralston as well is a bit similar.

His vast experience could yet be crucial for us in the run in even if it is only in appearances off the bench.

Think the St Mirren game was like that. But in general, for a winger his ball retention has always been ridiculously good, even if he’s not as lightning as he was now, I’m happy with him coming on if he’s showing that experience.

It’s been lacking since he got injured again, but I think it’s just taking him a while to get up to speed. People keep saying he’s lost his pace since coming back, I think he lost that by Rodgers second season. He’s not slow but he’s not that off the mark quick that he had as a youngster, and I think that’s when he started working himself into scoring positions.

He’s been better when he isn’t the fastest guy on the pitch than when he was for me, that’s why I think he definitely will prove he still has his place in the squad.

The fans need to get off his back and allow him the time to get back up to where he can be, but we’ve always been very quick to criticise him.

We owe him a bit more loyalty I think. He’s shown us plenty of it through the years.

I’d love to be proven wrong here.

I hope he heavily contributes to us wining the title, and every one of my recent posts is quoted and fired right back at me.

Slowly but surely getting back up to speed. Looking more like it… but of competition on the wings in the run in could be crucial. Needless to say he usually steps up when we need him
