Daizen Maeda

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Callum McGregor, Dec 31, 2021.

  1. Wasn’t great today, but very few were.

My preference when Kyogo is out is to start with GG and bring on Maeda depending on how the game progresses.

  2. Aye he was jobbies.

I also don't think he was great against Motherwell. His technique and decision making at times has left a lot to be desired.

Still think he will score plenty.

  3. Very early days but not overly impressed so far.
Works hard but not offering much else

  4. I thought this guy was going to be blistering pace and skill from the YT highlights from when we were first linked, but he just looks like a hardworking and quite limited player. Touch and finishing is leaving a lot to be desired. Suppose we can't win them all.

  5. we tend to forget these Japanese boys joined us at the end of their own season

Think he looks a bit lightweight.

Can see he’s lightening but anytime he’s close to a defender they’re able to muscle him out the way.

Will take him time to learn how to use his body better and put a bit of weight on.

  6. Woeful..

    No composure..

  7. Poor today.

Still settling in so will give him a bit of leeway but he’s got to be finishing one of the chances he had.

The one O’Riley slipped in was perfect for a #deadballchip.

  8. For all the talk of his pace. He failed to outpace Balogun last week and that donkey McCrorie tonight. Neither are players you'd think of as being overly quick

  9. Looks a bit jobby I’m afraid to say.

  10. Worked hard enough but lacks a bit of technique by the looks of it. A good few were off it tonight, I wouldn't worry too much.

  11. He's insanely quick, and his pressing is by far his best aspect, but we missed Giakoumakis big time tonight.

Not writing Maeda off, far from it, but he looks like he's still settling.

  12. Will be a good squad player for us but dont see him ever being one of the main men.. Kyogo is streets ahead of him

  13. Yeah both of those were weird. Surely they're the sort of players he should be able to do for pace?

  14. Touch was poor on numerous occasions but it's also far too early. Was surprised he started given it was likely to be a battle tonight.

  15. Had a poor game but it’s a bit early to be calling him *.

  16. Looks lightening without the ball but nowhere near as quick with it

  17. Actually the commentators in both of those games highlighted the pace of those players. But he doesn't look lightning quick, which I thought was his thing.

  18. not his best tonight but early days .

  19. Hopefully games like this will harden players like Maeda.
