  1. Only 21..

Been very, very highly rated....especially when coming through the Fulham academy...no sure what happened there..

Apparently Denmark looking to call him up..

    Goal scoring/creative midfielder who's 6 foot 2..

  2. Celtic are closing in on a deal to sign Matt O’Riley from MK Dons for £1.5 million, The Athleticunderstands.

The 21-year-old, who moved to the League One club from Fulham last January, is expected to join Ange Postecoglou’s side in the next couple of days.

A former England youth international, O’Riley has attracted interest from clubs across Europe and in the Championship, where Blackburn Rovers and Swansea City were both strongly linked with the attacking midfielder.

With seven goals and five assists to his name for MK Dons this season, O’Riley has been one of the standout players in League One.

Fulham are due a sizeable sell-on fee, understood to be as high as 50 per cent, as part of the compensation settlement that was agreed when O’Riley signed for MK Dons last January.

O’Riley had spent the previous six months training with MK Dons after rejecting the chance to stay at Fulham, where he had been since the age of eight.

So, what can Celtic expect from O’Riley?
After spending six months without a club during the height of the pandemic, O’Riley is thriving at MK Dons.

O’Riley profiles as something of an all-action midfielder who comes alive in the middle and final third.

The right-footed midfielder has seven goals and five assists to his name, with his distribution, finishing and dribbling all catching the eye this season.

O’Riley enjoys taking shots on, registering 40 shots so far in his 26 league appearances, and is a key part of MK Dons promotion-chasing form — with him on the pitch, they average 1.77 points per match and are 0.58 goals per 90 minutes better off (FBref).

  3. Definitely fits the profile. Decent height is a bonus too.

    Interesting.

  4. He looks a deep lying playmaker type in these clips..

Good on the ball. Can unlock defences and keep it moving..

Looks good at snuffing out danger with his presence as well. Decent pace/stride..

  5. Interesting indeed!

  6. Came out of nowhere and looks done looking at newsnow

  7. Quite like the look of this one, not gonna lie.

Eligible for Norway and Denmark, both looking at capping him. Yes pls.

  8. Watched both the player of the month montages on MK dons youtube and he seems very similiar to Turnbull. I always mind him from FM when he was younger at Fulham.

  9. Looking at the comment's. Swansea fan's thought this was a done deal and the MK Dons fan's are gutted..

He seems a really good signing at the price and age he is. Went down a level and just starting to climb back up and getting a lot of interest..

Would be happy with this. He looks a player as it is..

  10. Seems to have a bit more dig about him than Turnbull and better suited to being a '6' but I can where youre coming from.

    Some range of passing.

  11. The first 40 seconds or so absolutely sold him to me from a positioning perspective. He seems to love taking up the “half spaces” that Ange likes our centre mids to find. I think the term is “mezzala” but perhaps a Football Manager lover can confirm :56:

He looks very comfortable on the ball. Not the quickest acceleration wise, but covers the ground well (as you say, down to his stride). Looks a proper all rounder and some of his passing looks top notch.

It’s a shame he’s never scored a scorpion kick or the Aussies would all be piling in to tell us how incredible he is :fear:

Is he first team ready yis reckon? We will have some amount of Midfielders if he signs..

  12. His pace in the videos that Mick posted looks a lot better.

Instantly more excited about him than McGree.

  13. Another one to go out on loan.

  14. Aye he doesn't look like Turnbull to me..

Hope the report's are true and we bag him..

In those clips he presses well and his range is passing is top drawer. Kyogo and Maeda will love his ball's over the top..

You can see a player who is head and shoulders above the level he's playing at there..

  15. Technically * all over him..

McGree would've been decent but we need someone who is ultra confident in the middle..

    McGregor
    Hatate
    O'Riley

That's a mobile, comfortable trio that would likely be our 3 for the huns game..

  16. Yep I'm seeing this as prepping for Rogic being away and Turnbull being out for 2-3 months.

    McGregor
    Bitton
    Ideguchi
    Hatate
    O'Reilly
    Rogic
    Turnbull

Very content with that, a good range of types and also plenty goals and assists.

  17. Look a player! Great range of passing.

  18. Looks perfect mate ay..

Just saying there that he looks a player that is clearly above the level he's playing at..

Aye don't think getting overrun and outmuscled will be a problem for him..

That on the turn swivel for a big guy is hard to shake off... as we see regularly with Rogic..

    Has a bit of everything..

Get it done and he likely goes straight in to a very strong midfield..
