just think with 52000 season tickets (happier with that figure?), guaranteed chapions league football, dozens of shops doing good business, reasonable sponsorship deals and all these credit cards etc, we should be doing better than signing samaras and mccourt.
it was obvious last season that we wre struggling with an average squad

We are Champions, have been to the last 16 twice, are financially the best we have EVER been - times are hard eh!!??!!

i do agree we have to sign other players m8 but it seems to be the hysteria on here sometimes that we can sign anyone and we dont have boundies when we are clearly a medium fish in a very small pond that also has to occasionally deal with a massive fucken shark in the sea.

but people also need to remember that we operate in the red finacially, otherwise all the share holders would be getting dividends through the post

 

I don't know anything of him but if he's crap hence my comment we don't want just anyone to be signed.

 

We desperately need a CD, a LB, CM and a striker. There's no doubting that. Caldwell just isn't good enough to go up a level and Naylor seems to be going. We also need a creative strong player to compete for places with Robson and Brown.
As for the strikers, McDonald would be my 1st pick all the time and could do with a hard worker alongside him. Still not convince with Hinkel either but we've plenty of cover there.
Overall, I'm not at all concerned about our chances of 4 in a row but we can forget about the CL.

 

we were / are still in debt. We were in SHITLOADS more debt 4-5 years ago compared to now. Football is a business now and clubs like Hibs / Kilmarnock could go bust within 5-6 years.

 

Thats the problem with some of our fans these days - why wouldn't you pay for Paddy McCourt in installments? After all that way we would save a few grand in lost banking interest. Some of our fans just don't understand financial frugality and the way we have to compete with super rich English clubs we needs to save all we can. Thank goodness we have someone with brains running the show otherwise we'd be back to the days of potential adminstration. For those of us who remember, we are a millions from from those bad days.

I agree though one one thing, we do need players in to help us for Europe.

I think you are wrong though with your last comment regarding our squad not good enough to be challenging on all fronts. We should be able to cope with the SPL as we are but we DO need some quality in for Europe. I still think we will sign someone before the cut off date.

We were pretty poor. They passed through us too easily and we, again, struggled to keep possession. We are definitely better than what we saw tonight though.

 

aye so's nearly every club in debt. Look at the state of Arsenal they have to pay off the Emirates at more than 25 mill a year but they sell there big players and buy cheaper and better ones. we sell our players then buy championship * that we think will be good

wont be long before banks start calling in debts from clubs. I reckon alot of clubs will go under. There are a few banks close to bankrupcy (BOS being one of them)

No matter how bad the team plays , you should always SUPPORT them. If you're a fan , that is.

 

It makes me laugh all this ....We never perform pre season , havent done for a few years ...The Money is going to reduce the Debt at the club ..Dont forget not long ago when we nearly went out of Business ..I remember it well !!! not nice .......We played a team tonight that at one stage had 3 players on the park that cost £15 M each now give strachan & Lawwell just one of those £15 M then im sure we would sign 4 or 5 good players ....That is the Difference .....Money .....We have won the title 3 yrs on the trot ...Now tell me ,when MON left someone told you that 3 yrs down the line you would have won 3 in a row and got to the last 16 of the CL twice would you take it ???? Course you would ..Now roll on the 10th August let the season begin .....
