We get better when we play better teams. Europe is good exposure for us and lifts our game to higher levels of expectation.

Surprised they play tonight tbh, Thursdays a long enough stretch I suppose...

Quite a hard away game they've got tonight and a late kick off..

Hopefully helps us for the early kick off on Thursday..

I was a bit surprised by that as well. We would have been kicking up a stink if that was us.

 

I would say a very good chance Welsh starts and Carter-Vickers does not. Hard to see him being able to play 3 games in a week having not had much time lately. Either that or he plays Thursday and then is rested on Sunday.

 

We need his physicality for Livi..

I'd be tempted to go with Welsh for Thursday on your basis actually..

I don't think Livi are anything like their side of recent year's though but still a big game and we need an away win..

 

I agree with you there. The league is the biggest priority IMHO by far this season as well. Plus in fairness to Welsh he has been playing well.

Borja Iglesias is exactly the type of tall experienced striker we tend to struggle with. Carter-Vickers will definitely start imo.

 

Even their bench is silly..

Canales is an unbelievable player
Willian Jose was excellent a couple year ago at Sociedad
Juanmi was with him there
Guardado and Joaquin but best year's gone

Fekir is the big danger. Tello's pace is scary on the counter as well..
