Guy has also probably realised this is proper last chance for him at a club our size as well. How many guys have wasted their career after breaking into our first team ? Ralston has shown the mentality required. Seen so many guys thinking they've made it after a game or two and thus not pushing themselves.

McGregor should be the player all our youth look up to but they could all learn a massive lesson from Ralston as well. He might not have the natural ability of CMcG, but he's shown that attitude can make up for what you do lack.

He looks laser focussed and he’s now within a far more professional set up with actual tactics.

His upturn in form under someone who’s clearly coaching him day in and day out is no coincidence.

  3. Ralston has quite a bag o' tricks. Like to see his strong play as a CDM and leave Juranovic at RB.

We’ve only just got him looking like a professional fitbaw player in his own position lads, let’s calm doon!

  6. I think he is only 5ft8 or so, certainly short for a CB

  7. He’s 5’10

  8. Tbh Juranovic will just have to stew on the bench, fairs fair. Personally didn't like him playing at LB, looked too tentative for me whilst he didn't do too badly, but didn't contribute anything going forward for me along with Kyogo.

Juranovic won't be sitting on the bench, but in Ralston we know we have a really capable deputy..

Which is massive for him and us and would have been unthinkable at the beginning of season..

Delighted for him, he's really taken his chance..

And unlucky not to be called up to the Scottish squad after the Patterson withdrawal.

  10. The most in form Scottish RB right now and Clarke would rather pick a 30 year old uncapped Hibs RB over him, that is why Clarke will be sacked very soon, clueless.

tarboltontim We have nothing to lose but our chains.

Hasn't he just signed a 3 year contract?

  12. Valhalla

    Valhalla Thus spoke Batistuta.

If he was available he’d be in the squad.

  13. I knew he wasn't that tall, still too wee for a CB

  14. Why wouldn’t he be available?

  15. Never a centre mid in a million years.

  16. Gonna be honest mate, I get where you're going with this, but 99% of the fans deserve * all credit for his improvement this year, as they supplied nothing but scorching criticism and borderline fury. He really buckled down, trained hard in the new system and ethos and endured his way to where he is. All credit goes to Ange for laying the clean slate and the boy himself for grabbing it with both hands.

I will give credit for how quickly and completely the fans have accepted their own preconceptions and how delighted most of them are that he's proving them wrong

Edit: sorry mate, I think I replied to your post by mistake Vs the post you were replying to yourself

  17. The Croatian is also a right midfielder so might play on front or even cdm? Tricky one you don't want his form to dip due to lack of games but Ralston deserves his place

  19. When he got his goal v Hearts, I said on here that I wouldn’t mind seeing him tried there. Don’t understand what attributes he’s supposed to lack for that position. Would take time to adapt, and we wouldn’t need to try it yet anyway.

I just think it’s plain incorrect to say he’d never be able to do it, though.

The skill sets of the central midfielder and the modern fullback have a lot in common.

He's nowhere near technically good enough to be a centre mid, in my opinion.
