You * really need to stop with this A-league *.. Its a * terrible league that isnt even watched in Australia because its that bad and boring, its literally on its last legs in this country and barely got a tv deal.. You * are embarrassing yourselves and me being Australian. The last time the A-league was watchable was when Ange was at the roar and a 56yr old del piero was playing for Sydney.. The 2 or 3 * in here going on about the A-league must be the only * in Australia that even watch that trash..

I dont even know why the A-league is getting brought up on a * celtic fan forum ffs.. Its irrelevant to ange these days..

Anyone who knows the SPL would class teams as top 6 or bottom 6. So when you say a “second tier” SPL team, that means bottom 6.

You must not have read my full response then. As I did comment on a friendly game between us and Central Coast. I said it was a game with absolutely no importance at all. It’s stupid to try and use it as some sort of way to back up your argument.

Look, the SPL isn’t great by any stretch, but it is miles ahead of the A-League. Melbourne City would struggle to break into the top 6, and Maclaren would be a bang average player in the league, just as he was when he was with Hibs.

World Cup - deciding game to qualify for the WC. Scotland 2 Australia 0 in Glasgow. Melbourne result 0-0. John Kosmina header saved at the last moment, a little either side and it would have gone in and Australia would have had the momentum to add to the score. Scotland got a fright that night. All home players for Australia. Granted Scotland has a greater and longer tradition in football than Oz but I feel some teams here could exist in the SPL. Sydney City comes to mind.

If you'd read Ange's book you'd know that he is a massive advocate for Australian football and sees himself as a massive part of the thrust that takes us to the next level.

Again I need to emphasise, I'm not attacking SPL - my whole * heritage is Scottish and I'm a life long Celt but it drives me mad the way * put * on Oz fitba.
