Too early to be talking of longer contracts for him.

We are still only a handful of games in to the competitive stuff, plenty could still go wrong (we hope it doesn't).
That sort of talk won't happen till after the league season is decided.

I love that line in Trading Places where Lewis (Ackroyd) has just seen Billy Ray (Murphy) being chauffeured in his car...

Perhaps, but that's a risk we would normally take.

Almost every manager from practically recent memory starts on a one year here.

The only one that didn't in the last 20 years was Tony mowbray and we got stung with that one.
He also started the season quite well if I recall.

Rodgers started on a one year as well, then signed the four year deal after the first season.

If Ange gets us to the end of the season as league winners, a cup and a run in Europa, he will get the bigger contract for sure.

Exactly my first thought. How many times did we have to endure two defensive midfielders against utter * under Lennon? Even Rodgers was guilty of it too. Ange picked the team like a fan would yesterday, that in itself was a breath of fresh air.

Aussies are insufferable * on here ... before anyone starts, no, not all them. They know who they are.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, I still think its going to take him a year or two to get his head around this thing called the Scottish game ... 2 x teams ... each with a goalkeeper ... both teams team trying to bang the ball into the oppositions net. You'd think this game would have caught on around the world by now.;)

Yes but the Scottish game is 11 vs 12. Totally different.

Let me guess, the team wearing green and white gets 11, and the opposition gets 11 players + a cheerleader?

J- league is a * league? I would rate it above the SPL and I think its only beaten by 6 leagues in Europe (I'm not Japanese and watch pretty much every league that has Australians in it for the last 20 years. The quality of the J-league is remarkable. Though as Belgium found at the last world cup, the national team has a huge aerial weakness)

They managed to keep 2 players on the pitch longer than they should have been because of him.
