We sold two first team right backs in January and haven’t replaced them. We had to punt one left back on loan due to his stupidity and are left with someone who does a job but we need better. Full backs need to be the priority now.

Definitely M8. I have just became so accustomed of seeing our board perhaps signing one or two players and thinking we should be grateful for that when, in reality, we need about 8 new players in the door.

Can he play the pressing game for 90mins? He's had some nasty injuries.

 

We can add two players before wed 11pm....but they would now have to fly out and are they ready/fit.

 

James McCarthy is a Republic of Ireland internationalist who has been capped 43 times for his country.

James began his career at Hamilton Accies, making his first-team debut for the club at the age of just 15 back in 2006. After three years there, he moved to Wigan Athletic where he helped them to win the FA Cup in 2013 before he moved on to Everton. And after six years at Goodison, the 30-year-old joined Crystal Palace in 2019.

It's a good question, he used to be a monster in terms of stamina when he first went to Everton. I'd be interested in seeing how many times he's played 90 minutes for Palace.

 

It's certainly a start and hopefully with 2-3 more signings we will begin to look more solid and can implement Ange's style. He needs backed. We have a decent looking spine in Hart, Julien, McCarthy, Forrest and McGregor. If Starfelt and Furuhashi can justify their fees and we add a striker and right back we should be competitive at least.

 

Good business but a fully fit Callum McGregor is better simples

As Chiellini, you should know pace isn't everything.

Happy with this! I can see him slotting in nicely. Hopefully better than Brown last season. More or less his replacement.
