As long as this club is run by the idiots upstairs we will never progress the manager’s job is a poisoned chalice we are going round in circles every season relying on the weight of our support to pull us through from game to game it really is quite depressing how things are developing
Who would want the job in these circumstances

I started this thread back in May 2018, I said at the time I didnt fancy having Hart as our goalkeeper. I still dont rate him but little did I know the utter * we would end up with now. Id choose Hart over Barkas or Bain every time but I still believe theres got to be better options available to us out there.

Agree with you he is probably better then Barkas and or Bain but he is still a long ways down from Forster.

Celtic have stepped up their bid to land keeper Joe Hart and they can land the former England star for just £1million.

Hoops chiefs have made contact with Tottenham but they have been warned to forget about landing the shot-stopper for free.

That’s despite the 34-year-old being told by new boss Nuno Espirito Santo he will not be part of his plans this season. Hart has one year left on his Spurs terms worth a cool £2.5m but Record Sport understands Tottenham are open to cutting a deal over the remaining 12 months on his contract.

Celtic gaffer Ange Postecoglou was willing to give Vasilis Barkas a fresh start this season but the £5m former AEK Athens man now faces a bleak future at Parkhead after being dropped for Wednesday’s calamitous Champions League exit against Midtjylland.

Scott Bain was handed the gloves but a new keeper has shot towards the top of the priority list.

The club kept ties with Hart after holding tentative talks last term while they were attempting to negotiate another move for
    Fraser Forster.

Hart eventually moved from Burnley to Spurs, where he made 10 appearances in the Europa League and FA Cup.

He’s keen to kick-start his career, having turned out just three times for the Turf Moor side in the previous campaign.

Celtic are hoping to tempt him to Parkhead but they are also interested in Watford keeper Ben Foster.

The 38-year-old has fallen behind Daniel Bachman in the pecking order at Vicarage Road but also has a year left on
his contract and is understood to be keen to see it out before finishing his career in America.

Celts can offer first-team football rather than another campaign on the bench for the former Manchester United and England man and hope that might sway him.

Would take him in a second. He’s a good version of Craig Gordon for me.

Can make saves that are just utterly breathtaking but is prone to a wee error or two.

The state we are at with keepers I don’t mind that. Guys an experienced leader as well. We need that.

Hmm not sure about that. Hart has been on a downward trajectory for about 5 years. Put it this way, whilst Hart was journeying from Torino to West Ham to Burnley as a glorified second choice keeper, Gordon was our number 1 in a treble treble winning team playing CL football regularly.

That said, I’m all for taking Hart and seeing if he can have one last bash at getting back to a semblance of his best. But that might just speak more to just how desperate our goalkeeping situation is at the minute.

Honestly think we could stick a outfield player in goal and he'd be better than Barkas

Take Hart as a stop gap but its another position we badly need cover in

I’m relatively happy with this. He will be an improvement on what we have, at the very least.

And before that We had Fraser Forster and Craig Gordon hadn't played in 2 years and was coaching at Dumbarton. So let's hope your 2nd point about him getting anxious to it is right!

Was gonna say one thing is it brings.some character to the dressing room.

He has 76 England caps, played at world cups and was man city's no1 for 9 year.

    I'll give him a chance.

He will at least be a talker to the defence, he'll shout and bawl and as said he's a character, something that Barkas doesn't have, he probably doesn't utter a word to his defenders..

Almost certainly overpaying. He is the last goalkeeper a team needs if they intend to play out from the back. It was the reason Pep got rid of him immediately when he arrived. Terrible with the ball at his feet.
There are lots of good young keepers in the EPL who are way better than Hart.

Doesn't seem to stop Sevco when they have a 40yr old in goal. I would get Joe Hart in within a Hart beat
