Domestic market? You mean England? Anyone good down there is mainly £20m+

Or do you mean scotland? Taylor was seen as one of the best. I don't blame them for looking elsewhere. I have no doubt we will sign some Scottish players in jan when he's managed the league and can spot who he likes himself.

Mate I'm not being funny but I watched Aberdeen the other night and I'm fairly confident they would thump us at the moment.. yesterday was a wake up call, it was embarrassing..

We need serious investment ASAP and that's not me being a drama queen or trying to be negative or whatever..

Gk. We have never needed one so badly in my time of supporting Celtic

We need at least 4 or 5 defenders in the door.. what was on the pitch yesterday is not even good enough for back up.

Midfield is our strongest area but we still need at least one more central Midfielder for cover..

Up front.. striker needed urgently.. at least one

That's a * of alot of players needed and season starts next week.

Personally I think the league will be tougher this year and at the moment we are weaker than last season. As it stands we havnt a hope of winning it

Whilst I agree with your second point in part: Turnbull has come in and done well for us so it’s not like there isn’t talent in Scotland. My only concern with your theory is Celtic Fans tend not to be patient. If the same * show happens like last year he may not have until Jan to sort it out.

I just don’t agree that you need to spend £20m to get a good player from England, premier league maybe but there are players in the championship and league 1 who could come up here and do a job for us, especially with league being priority and Europe simply a ‘would be nice’ target this season.

This is outwith the scope of the thread anyway. I hope big Ange gets who he wants and we can get fired into that league. Next five weeks will tell all!

I believe there has definitely been a conversation actually many conversations but your right we don’t know for sure unless he has mentioned it interviews.

COVID and quarantine can’t be used to blame slow transfer business but I took from that he meant getting Kyogo and Starfelt in the team and playing, when signings are made there is going to be a delay before they join the squad.

I think the big problem with down south is they are now asking for more money for their players, but I definitely agree there is a bunch of players down south in the championship and league one that would improve our team and be affordable.

I know we want the signings in as early as possible, especially with European ties but it is going to take time and I think we just need to be patient. Most seasons we are always under prepared for Europe but this season is worst than most because of the complete change in the club and duration it took to hire a manager. I think if Ange stays, it’ll be the only season we’re under prepared under him. And I don’t blame him for that at all, loving him as manager so far and can see him being successful.

Only club in the world that finds it difficult to buy players during a transfer window

We don't have a competent scouting team that's the issue.

Hes came in here with us having no head of recruitment, director of football etc, nothing in place. Noone knows what the situation is with scouting at celtic right now.

My guess is hes being asked to.pick players off a list that we've been scouting for months/years prior to his arrival. That's never an easy way to do things.

    Everything is a mess.

Probably true with the exception possibly being Furuhashi. If he's asked for him, then it would seem we got that done pretty quickly. Which raises the question why are other signings taking so long to materialise.

The corrupt clowns in the boardroom are waiting to see the result midweek. They never realise that football isn't like other business - sometimes you really have to speculate to accumulate.

Biscuit tin, buy cheap and many and hope enough make a profit.

So many times we could have pushed forward and made great signings to bolster decent teams, but almost every single time we * it up by penny pinching. It's thee most frustrating thing about supporting Celtic.

The fans to a man can highlight flaws over the years and they are never, ever addressed. Last year was a nightmare and it feels like I was starting to wake up, but that was part of the dream and I ain't waking up any time soon.

It simply won't happen the biggest gap in quality he has probably faced in his career was the world cup and he lost all 3 games that's not a dig its just a comparison

We went into the World Cup in a bigger shambles than Celtic is in the current moment. Obviously its different comparing club football and International football. While we did lose I was honestly proud of the way our team competed. They didnt take a backward step, they played great football, we had a young squad, we should have cleared the deadwood long ago but didnt (only Cahill was left really), we deserved better results especially against the Netherlands. If we took the team we had before to the World Cup we would have lost worse and there would have been nothing positive about anything.

At the end of the day it is still 11 v 11, all the players have two arms, two legs and a brain they can use. I am not naieve to know you will face better opposition and lose, but honestly, how do you want to go about it. Believing you can win and doing something special and giving the players that belief or accepting defeat and camping in the box awaiting your fate.

But he would need to be adaptable look at Strachan's record in the champions League then look at Rodgers. Regardless of how good we play domestically we're never going to play the best in Europe off the park.

Just out of curiosity how has Ange faired in the Asian equivalent of the champions League ?

I understand the frustration but this just isn't true.

  14. This.

It's obvious that Ange has been given a list, scooped out of the bin from the NL/ BR era.

All this talk about "Angeball" is all fine and dandy. But given his proclivity to play the way he wants, were truly *.

Ange us coaching with two hands tied behind his back and blindfolded.

You can't eat soup with a fork, you can't tickle a mosquito under the elbow with a telegraph pole, you can't squeeze blood from a stone, and you definitely can't play "Angeball" with this group of * chimpanzees.

More concerning is that even when we apparently do make moves, the same old faffing and * about appears to be our current modus operandi.

I dont really expect anything from him until he's actually backed and the board learn how to run a club properly
