    Here we go again!

Southampton want to cut his wages to £70k a week … which he’s not happy about…. So he’s going to accept £25k a week from Celtic. Cannae see it.

Football brain says - “do it …we need him desperately” …

Rational thinking principles driven brain says - “ feckim … he had his chance in the season we most needed him and snubbed us.”

Imagine knocking back 70k a week to sit on your *. The money in that league is beyond a joke.

You need need to be financially irresponsible to pay someone 70k a week to sit in bench most likely they offered him less and rises to 70 k if he plays I’m assuming he got his large contract when he was in first team and did the media not say when he was first on loan he was 70 k at Southampton

If I remember correctly, I'm sure Hugh Keevins said he was on 92 grand a week. * mad money

Basically, we were paying him nearly our top rate and Southampton still had to pay him 70 grand more

I thought it was always reported when last came he was on 70k a week not over 100k like everyone says now so surely his new contract would be less than the 70k still ridiculous tho for a keeper that warms your bench. If there is a deal to be done I'd jump at it * persisting with Barkas over him just cause he * us about * me off but I'd rather better our team than be stubborn over it.

From what I’ve read and been told, it’s £70k a week he’s earning. Either way his wages will always be an issue for us.

I’d take him if he wants to sign permanently but not another loan

Highest we have ever paid i think was Henrik right? At around 35K, but considering inflation would be 57K roughly, our cap has remained the same we have never budged even with inflation, those High earners under MoN were rich, today’s players for us are rich but not as much a then.

To be fair, the wages won’t be used elsewhere if we don’t get him.

Trying to picture big Forster playing sweeper, coming out his box and moving the ball about...it's not for everyone. He would surely make an * of it at some point.

Great goalkeeper but not one that will fit in with Ange's style. It's bit of a conundrum for me tbh.

Makes me feel disgusted with the game when it’s got to the stage where Celtic are selling our best players to EPL powerhouses like Brentford…. Or rather… dross like Brentford are rich enough to buy them. :99:

If he is wanting to come to Celtic, fine BUT it has to be permanent contract at least 3 seasons NOT another loan.

I’d take a loan no bother, instantly better and a year to scout a keeper.

He doesn’t suit Ange’s style but you can put up with that for his quality for a year.

Crazy wages aside that's another good point against him coming, we know he's an excellent shot stopper, type of keeper that saves you dropping 10+ points a season in games you're up against it, but he's really not good with the ball at his feet and his distirbution isn't great either, he just might not be the right fit for the way we're setting up now.

I don't give a * if we sell players to Kuala Lumpur Rovers as long as we get value. I don't know/care anything about Brentford but if they're straight with us and have the means then fair * to them... No point begrudging others for the money they have, or trying to ransom them either. That's just the way the game is now...

I honestly don't see Ange interested in Forster he's not a sweeper keeper and his wages are far too high for us.
